About the Role

As an Assistant Manager in Commercial Banking, you will support the Relationship Manager in driving sustainable business growth while maintaining sound risk management practices to ensure a high-quality portfolio. This role requires strong discipline in adhering to governance and process requirements, a good understanding of customers' business operations and the local market environment, and effective collaboration with stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery to customers.

What will your day look like?

As an Assistant Manager, you will to: 

  • Support our Relationship Managers in making banking easier for customers, providing customer solutions, and insights,
  • Conduct financial analysis and develop and implement appropriate customer strategies,
  • Establish and maintain a professional profile in the market and maintain an understanding of the customer’s industry and associated markets,
  • Work collaboratively with other internal work functions and stakeholders, and
  • Demonstrate living the ANZ Values with customers and colleagues.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Great financial literacy, analytical skills, commercial and business acumen,
  • Understanding of credit/financial analysis fundamentals
  • Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends,
  • Prior experience in developing strong relationships in a customer delivery/ customer experience role,
  • Experience in the banking industry is an advantage, but not a requirement, and
  • Preferably possesses an accounting or finance degree or equivalent, though not a strict requirement.
