Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Relationship Associate within the Agri team, you will play a key role in supporting Relationship Managers to deliver seamless banking experiences. This includes providing customer solutions and insights through financial analysis, as well as offering dedicated support to designated customer groups across the Commercial and Small Business segments.
You will have the opportunity to develop your credit and relationship management capabilities, and within 12 months, may be entrusted with a small Credit Approval Delegation and the management of three or more accounts, at the discretion of senior management.
This role is well-suited for individuals with emerging talent and strong potential to progress into full Relationship Management responsibilities.

Hours: Standard, Mon to Friday 37.5 hrs

You will be responsible for:
- Listening to and understanding customers to identify their business requirements and service needs, while ensuring they feel valued.
- Gaining insights into customer portfolios, including size, objectives, challenges, and value propositions.
- Strengthening the bank’s profile by demonstrating a strong understanding of customer industries and relevant market trends.
- Managing a small client portfolio where required, at the discretion of senior management.
- Building effective relationships and collaborating closely with Relationship Managers, Senior Managers, and product partners to deliver tailored solutions and address customer concerns.
- Driving customer satisfaction by managing interactions thoughtfully and providing meaningful, value-added insights.
- Leveraging customer feedback to enhance overall experience and support business retention.
- Taking a proactive approach to self-development while consistently demonstrating a positive and professional attitude.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships within a customer-focused delivery role.
- A solid understanding of structuring security arrangements.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret financial trends and their implications.
- Experience within the banking and/or financial services industry.
- Prior experience in financial and/or lending environments.
