About the Role
As the senior leader for Markets Compliance in Singapore and key liaison for Compliance teams across the region, you will provide robust compliance and regulatory advice to the Markets teams globally. Your Markets and international expertise will be crucial in advising on compliance, regulatory, and conduct risk, and in strengthening Market’s risk maturity levels through proactive review, challenge, and strategic advice.
You will foster strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders, including the Managing Directors of the Markets and International businesses, Line 1B Non-Financial Risk teams and internal Risk and Audit teams. Your participation in business risk and governance forums will be crucial, as you provide clear insights on the adequacy and maturity of compliance management and offer strategic advice on regulatory changes and risk management.
As a senior member of the Institutional Compliance team, your leadership and collaboration skills will be vital in driving and supporting initiatives across ANZ, beyond your direct area of responsibility.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Manager - Institutional Markets , you will;
- Provide accurate and ethical compliance and regulatory advice, recommendations, and thought leadership to address the needs of the Markets business globally.
- Manage the execution of deep dive reviews for portfolios, ensuring thematic insights are provided to drive business compliance and risk maturity uplift.
- Provide strong leadership in co-ordination of compliance teams across international locations, particularly across Asia.
- Be a strong people leader and culture carrier for the Markets and International businesses by displaying and encouraging behaviours essential to the delivery of a strong risk culture.
- Supporting international compliance teams’ engagement with regulators across multiple jurisdictions, particularly across Asia.
- Coordinate regulatory communications with international compliance teams and ANZ Group compliance teams.
- Attend relevant business and international risk and governance forums, steering committee meetings, and other meetings as required, delivering clear opinions and required actions to improve risk management.
- Collaborate with and influence other Institutional Division and Compliance teams and develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders to drive a proactive, consistent, and coordinated approach to compliance risk management within Markets and across International
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive experience in global markets compliance, including deep expertise in G20 compliance and a thorough understanding of fixed income, FX, commodity trading and capital markets activities.
- A background in complex, highly regulated financial institutions, with robust technical and industry networks both internally and externally.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate change effectively with senior business stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience, enabling you to develop a highly engaged and motivated team while fostering a healthy working culture.
- A commitment to creating a safe and supportive work environment, where individuals are inspired and motivated to grow, thrive, and deliver value.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, positioning you as a strong role model and culture carrier.
- The ability to identify and execute training opportunities, enhancing the capability, productivity, and performance of yourself, the global Markets Compliance team, and the global Markets business.
