About the Role

The Senior Audit Lead - Singapore role supports delivery of independent third-line assurance in Singapore and the broader Institutional Business and International network, as well other divisions (as required), through audits assessing the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls.

Reporting to the Audit Director - Markets, International & Head of Audit - Singapore & South East Asia (SEA), this role leads or supports audit engagements of varying complexity in Singapore and Institutional Business, forming evidence-based assessments of control effectiveness, service reliability and regulatory compliance.

The role works closely with audit teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality audit outcomes in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards, while contributing informed risk insights and supporting a strong speak-up culture.

This role is a designated Material Risk Person (MRP) under the MAS Guidelines on Individual Accountability and Conduct (GIAC) and will assist the Senior Manager (SM) accountable for the Core Management Function(s) of Internal Audit for the ANZ Singapore Branch. This MRP role is responsible for timely escalation to SMs to assist SM’s in discharging their accountabilities.

What will your day look like?

As Senior Audit Lead, you will have Singapore Specific & Regional/Global Accountabilities that will include but not limited to:

• Lead audit engagements in Singapore or contribute as a team member on more complex audits across Institutional business. Ensure delivery of timely and quality audit assurance, reporting of findings, and messaging to the business.
• Manage audit delivery responsibilities to agreed timelines and budgets, ensuring disciplined execution, timely escalation of delivery risks and strong issue follow-up and validation readiness.
• Proactively maintain an up-to-date understanding of the MAS regulatory environment, international regulatory environment and industry best practices.
• Support the Audit Director - Markets, International & Head of Audit - Singapore & SEA in stakeholder management.
• Contribute to annual and ongoing audit planning activities, providing input on key risks, emerging issues and coverage considerations.
• Support effective risk identification and audit scoping, focusing audit activity on material risks and customer outcomes, and refining scope where appropriate without reducing assurance.
• Apply sound risk judgement and strong methodology discipline, ensuring audit work demonstrates understanding of key risks and is aligned to Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Apply relevant risk management frameworks in audit delivery, including the Non-Financial Risk Framework and other applicable guidance, to support risk analysis, testing and conclusions.
• Apply a data-first audit mindset, using data analytics and AI to strengthen audit planning, testing, insight and efficiency.
• Engage with business stakeholders throughout audit delivery, maintaining effective working relationships and escalating matters requiring judgement appropriately.
• Ensure audit findings and recommendations are clear, value-adding, proportionate to risk and linked to customer outcomes, conduct and service reliability.
• Lead, coach and develop audit team members and foster a strong speak-up culture, role modelling challenge, integrity and accountability, and providing real time feedback during audits.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Audit expertise: Strong knowledge of audit methodology, evidence standards, reporting, and issue validation.
• Business acumen: Extensive experience in Institutional banking industry in an Audit, Risk or first line assurance environment.
• Risk capability: Proven ability to identify, assess, and challenge key non-financial risks (e.g., operational resilience, conduct, fraud, compliance, and transaction risks), and evaluate control effectiveness across customer value chains while escalating material risk themes.
• Audit delivery track record: Demonstrated experience delivering medium to high complexity audits or workstreams with high-quality, defensible outcomes.
• Stakeholder engagement: Ability to engage senior stakeholders, clearly communicate audit outcomes, and manage differing views constructively.
• Data-driven assurance: Practical experience using data and analytics to enhance audit scoping, testing, and insights.
• Leadership and culture: Experience supporting team development and promoting a strong speak-up culture, demonstrating integrity, independence, and sound judgment.
• Good to have: Experience or exposure to technology risk management and control environment; experience or understanding of international regulatory environment.
• Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CIA or equivalent), with postgraduate studies in accounting, audit, risk, or compliance considered advantageous
