About the Role

 

As a Senior Analyst, Trade Control you will provide support for the Markets business via the creation, enhancement and daily running of various trade controls to ensure that exceptions and risk are identified and addressed in a timely manner. Your role focuses on performing day to day processes under the Trade Control team, as well as playing a proactive role in identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce operational risk for the business.

 

This role is a subject matter expert (SME), you will contribute to new control design and implementation of systems enhancements and works closely with various stakeholders including Trading, Sales, Business Managers, Structuring, Business Governance, Markets Surveillance and Project Management teams.

 

Role Type: 12 Months Fixed Term/ Secondment, Full Time

 

What will your day look like?

  • Partner with business and technology to develop new platforms/processes to enhance and/or expand controls or product coverage to provide timely and relevant trade controls to the business.  
  • Prepare and provide relevant analysis and statistics to business, identifying trends in exceptions, propose solutions and partner with business and enablement functions to drive changes to improve observed drawbacks.
  • Run daily control tasks, liaise with stakeholders for clarifications and follow through on outstanding control items to ensure that risks and exceptions are addressed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Displaying a positive attitude and encouraging a culture of teamwork and responsible behaviour. Contribute to and encourage overall team effectiveness.
  • Identify and be involved in the implementation of controls to eliminate any financial loss resulting from operational errors.
  • Performing trade surveillance controls to mitigate rogue trading activities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including front and back-office users.
  • Developing internal controls for front office surveillance controls, mitigating operational risks through a proactive approach. Documentation of procedures and controls across FO Support activities.
  • You may participate in User Acceptance Testing (UATs) to enhance trade surveillance systems and introduce process improvement initiative, drive design and implementation of ad hoc trade surveillance controls.

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experience in trade surveillance and knowledge of FICC asset classes (FX, Commodities and Rates & Credit) is an advantage, as the role involves handling cross asset class trades.
  • Good commuication skills and able to articulate issues and concerns to stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive small to medium scale projects independently by coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Detailed and ability to analyse and interpret data and processes.
  • Pro-active and collaborative approach in resolving issues.
  • An ability to be flexible in your daily work routine to cater to ad hoc investigations or reporting requirements.
  • Able to work on an individual basis but also to work as part of a bigger global team.
  • Able to influence people to deliver outcomes, build strong working relationships within and across business units.
  • Strong customer service ethic, subject to maintaining internal controls.
  • Ability to drive small to medium scale projects by coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Strong excel skills such as macro design and troubleshooting excel formulas.
  • Murex application knowledge a plus.
