About the Role

 

As an Associate Director, Institutional NFR, TB (Transaction Banking) Digital, you will act as a trusted risk partner to Product, Sales, Implementation, Operations, Technology and Digital Delivery stakeholders, providing practical risk advice and execution support to enable safe, sustainable and customer-focused growth across Transaction Banking products, including Payments & Cash Management, Trade and Digital Payments.

 

You will be responsible for the identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of material non-financial risks across the end-to-end product, platform and client lifecycle. The role will support the strengthening of the control environment for Transaction Banking products and digital capabilities, contribute to product design and change execution, support client implementation and delivery risk management, enhance regulatory readiness, drive incident learnings, and ensure the timely escalation of material risk matters where appropriate.

What will your day look like?

 

As an Associate Director, Institutional NFR, TB Digital, you will:

 

  • Act as a trusted non-financial risk partner to Transaction Banking Product and Digital teams, providing risk guidance on product strategy, client solutions, platform delivery and change initiatives.
  • Provide constructive challenge and advice on risk profiles, control effectiveness, customer outcomes and risks arising from change across Payments, Cash Management, Trade and Digital Payments.
  • Support the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of material non-financial risks across the Transaction Banking product, platform and client lifecycle.
  • Drive risk oversight across operational, technology, cyber, data, fraud, financial crime, third-party, conduct and resilience risk domains.
  • Contribute to strengthening the control environment through enhanced governance, risk indicators, documentation and management reporting.
  • Support risk assessments, control assurance activities, incident management, issue remediation and continuous control improvement initiatives.
  • Provide risk input and execution support for new product development, platform enhancements, digital capabilities and strategic change programmes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective risk management throughout design, testing, implementation and post-launch review activities.
  • Identify, assess and escalate material risks, control gaps and operational readiness concerns that may impact customer, regulatory or business outcomes.
  • Support strong governance and regulatory readiness through robust documentation, transparent reporting and effective escalation practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Technology, Digital, Compliance, Legal, Financial Crime, Risk and Audit stakeholders to drive aligned risk outcomes.
  • Promote a strong risk culture by enhancing stakeholder awareness, accountability and ownership of risk and control obligations across Transaction Banking.

 

What will you bring?

 

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Strong Transaction Banking experience with sound knowledge of Payments & Cash Management, Trade and/or Digital Payments products, platforms and client lifecycles.
  • Proven experience in non-financial risk management within a complex financial services environment, covering governance, risk assessments, controls, incidents and issues management.
  • Strong understanding of operational, technology, cyber, data, fraud, financial crime, conduct, third-party and regulatory risk exposures.
  • Ability to provide credible risk advisory, constructive challenge and risk-based recommendations to Product, Digital, Operations and Technology stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting product approvals, product changes, digital platform enhancements and client implementation risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of risk in change, including control design, implementation and governance across product and digital initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex risk matters into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across business and control functions to deliver sustainable risk outcomes.
  • Knowledge of domestic and cross-border payments, cash management, trade finance, APIs, client connectivity solutions and emerging payment industry standards.
  • Understanding of digital channel controls, payment security, fraud prevention, API risk management and digital service resilience.
  • Experience with regulatory engagements, audit reviews and operational resilience programmes within a banking environment.
  • Familiarity with risk data, key risk indicators, enterprise risk frameworks and control uplift programmes to identify emerging risks and drive effective remediation.
