About the Role

 

Reporting to the Head of Financial Institutions Group China, your key responsibilities will be growing the portfolio profitability through client relationship management, direct deal engagement and execution.  This role requires strong technical skills developed through sector and product knowledge, experience in client coverage with an emphasis on business origination and development for both local & international opportunities.

 

You will need to be able to understand ANZ’s product capabilities and apply them to the needs of Financial Institution clients and will have a demonstrated competence in key transaction banking, financial markets and lending products of relevance to the financial institutions sector.

 

Your ability in developing and maintaining internal relationships with product partners, FI team counterparts around the globe and risk teams is key to delivering efficient global account coverage.

What will your day look like?

 

As an Associate Director, Financial Institutions Group you will:

 

  • Contribute to the Institutional business through the execution of the FIG Growth Strategy.
  • Grow portfolio profitability through business development, relationship management, deal origination and execution.  Deepen existing customer relationships through driving cross sell opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders including product partners, FIG team counterparts around the globe, as well as Credit partners.
  • Run a well-managed portfolio including ensuring no overdue credit files, identifying and managing non-financial risks, passing all internal audit requirements, and ensuring timely and effective KYC is completed.
  • Provide transparent & thoughtful consideration to risk assessments.

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Excellent business understanding of the range of financial & product needs of FIG clients including Markets, Transaction Banking & Lending.
  • Demonstrated competence in global account management and internal well managed processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with clients at a senior level.
  • Extensive Institutional banking and FI related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Institutions, including a solid grasp of current industry trends and evolving risk management practices.
  • Proven track record of successfully originating and executing new business initiatives.  This includes demonstrated experience in identifying and developing growth opportunities, building strong customer relationships and closing deals that contribute to sustainable revenue growth.  
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
