About the Role
As an Associate, Research & Analysis, International Banking – China Portfolio, you will manage a portfolio of International Banking clients in China and be responsible for delivering high-quality research, analysis and credit risk assessment. You will play a critical role in identifying, assessing and managing risks inherent within clients' business models, industries, capital structures, management frameworks and financial performance.
Working closely with Relationship Managers, Risk partners and Product partners, you will provide insightful analysis and sound credit recommendations, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, mitigated and monitored in line with policy, regulatory and portfolio requirements. You will also act as a key coordination point for multinational corporate customers, ensuring all booking point credit risk, policy and regulatory obligations are met.

What will your day look like?
As an Associate Research & Analysis, you will be responsible for
- Manage a portfolio of International Banking clients in China, providing ongoing research, analysis and credit risk assessment.
- Prepare high-quality credit papers with clear identification of risks and robust risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to assess client performance, capital structure and financial strength.
- Perform industry research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities and risks impacting clients.
- Deliver sound, well-supported credit recommendations based on thorough analysis and risk evaluation.
- Monitor portfolio performance and undertake regular risk grade reviews.
- Manage portfolio events and ensure timely escalation and resolution of risk-related matters.
- Assess risks associated with clients’ business models, industry dynamics, management structures and financial results.
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Risk teams and Product partners to support informed credit decisions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of credit and risk management activities.
- Act as a key coordination point for multinational corporate customers across relevant booking locations.
- Ensure all credit risk, policy and regulatory requirements are met and maintained across the portfolio.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Strong and relevant experience in risk analysis across Institutional Banking customers.
• Tertiary qualification, preferably in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Economics.
• Knowledge of banking products and loan structures, trade finance and global markets.
• Highly motivated, self-directed team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance risk and reward considerations.
• Mandarin language capability to support effective engagement with China-based clients and stakeholders, and to review and analyse business and financial information that may be prepared in Mandarin.
