About the Role
As an Assistant Manager for China Markets Operations, you will support the daily operational activities across a broad range of Markets products, ensuring accurate and timely trade processing, settlements, reconciliations, risk controls and regulatory reporting.
You will work closely with Front Office, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology and external stakeholders, including regulators, to ensure efficient execution of operational processes and delivery of strategic initiatives. You will also play a key role in driving operational improvements, managing risk and supporting team performance.

What will your day look like?
As an Assistant Manager, you will:
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of Markets products, ensuring timely trade capture, confirmation, settlement and reconciliation
- Monitor and resolve operational exceptions, manage risks and strengthen controls to support a robust operating environment
- Support issue resolution and service delivery across local and global teams
- Primary contact for operational matters with relevant stakeholders including Front office, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology and other operations teams.
- Lead regulatory reporting activities, support regulatory change initiatives and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
- Drive process improvements, automation opportunities and strategic projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive experience Markets Operations, Treasury Operations, or Capital Markets Operations
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end processes across Markets products
- Experience managing operational risk, controls and regulatory requirements within banking
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, develop and support team members
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple functions
- Shared service management experience
- Prior supervisory role and team management experience
- Experience in Markets Ops related Regulatory impact analysis and change management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using data to drive insights and decision-making
- Experience leading change, process improvement or operational transformation initiatives
- Strong data management skills, including exposure to SQL, Python or similar analytical tools
- Experience with Markets platforms such as Murex
- Exposure to automation and digitization initiatives
- Experience supporting commodity products and related operations
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, PMP, or relevant operational qualifications
