About the Role

 

As an Associate Director/Senior Associate, Financial Institutions Group, Research & Analysis, you will be responsible with the following: 

 

  • Focused on the production of high quality and fit-for-purpose analysis to support credit decisions pertaining to Korea Financial Institutions clients with particular focus in the Insurance/Finance/Securities/Asset Management/Public sector.
  • Actively contribute across the end-to-end relationship credit management process covering Origination, Transaction Structuring, Risk Grading, Risk Analysis & Credit Approval, Documentation, Portfolio Monitoring, and Specialised Industry Research.
  • Provide first line of defence (in conjunction with relationship management team), ensure well managed principles and manage credit risks within an allocated portfolio.
  • Represent relationship management teams in internal audit reviews.
  • Be a change agent and drive efficiencies across policy, process, systems and risk management across both FIG R&A and FIG segments.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Drive continuous improvement in the quality of insights, fit-for-purpose analysis and effective credit assessment and management of FIG counterparties.
  • Ensure high quality and timely contribution to key strategic transactions and customers that improves the probability of success and maximises the customer experience to support profitable business growth.
  • Build strong working relationships with Relationship Management and Risk teams for effective collaboration and engagement to navigate appropriate negotiations to ensure sound commercial outcomes that balances the requirements of the Bank and Customers.
  • Ensure adherence to ANZ policies, processes and external regulatory requirements - driving a strong risk culture.
  • Build collaborative working relationships across the bank to ensure best value to the customer, working side-by-side with the Relationship Manager, FI Risk, Markets, Corporate Finance, LS&E, external legal, operations teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Active contribution to RWA targets including identification and rectification of any data or methodology issues.
  • Understand financial targets for Relationship Managers and effectively contribute to the achievement of such targets.
  • Meet requirements to manage the credit risk within acceptable parameters.
  • Understanding customer industry, operating environment and strategy, and ensuring that solutions are considered with the customer in mind.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Proven banking experience in relationship credit management across industry segments and a robust understanding of the Korea market dynamics. 
  • Strong knowledge and exposure to Risk & Compliance management along with understanding of the operating and regulatory environment across jurisdictions.
  • Relevant experience in FIG is preferred but not essential depending on level of analytical skills and sound credit sense.
  • Strong understanding of lending/markets/transaction banking products and corresponding documentations.
  • Advanced collaboration, relationship, networking, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Strategic mindset, highly commercial with a proven ability to balance risk/reward priorities.
  • Strong client focus with the capability of leading due diligence activities, negotiations and senior level customer engagements.
  • Planning and organisational skills, capable of prioritising effectively in order to meet all requirements – strong attention to detail, limited supervision and capable of driving agenda for customer, product, relationship and risk.
  • Tertiary degree in business, economics and numbers-based discipline with CFA/CPA/FRM qualifications preferred but not a must.
