Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Agri Relationship Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing a customer portfolio by building sustainable long-term client relationships. This involves providing tailored customer solutions and proactive insights. Operating within a defined area, the role focuses on making banking easier for customers by understanding their business needs and creating insightful solutions that help them achieve their goals.
Role Location: Hamilton or Pukekohe
Role Type: Permanent
Hours: Standard 37.5 hrs

You will be responsible for:
- Listening to and valuing customers to understand their business and needs.
- Providing simple, flexible solutions and actionable insights that help customers achieve their goals.
- Building strong long-term relationships and enhancing the bank’s profile in the marketplace through networking and industry engagement.
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of core products and new offerings, introducing specialist expertise when required.
- Ensuring compliance with credit standards and operational excellence while managing risk effectively.
- Coaching customers to use the most effective channels and supporting process improvements for better customer experience.
- Managing customer pipeline activity from initial contact to follow-up on banking solutions provided.
- Contributing to regional performance objectives through meeting customer needs with ANZ solutions.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt style for different audiences and build proposals that meet customer needs.
- Demonstrated resilience, self-management, and a growth mindset with flexibility to adapt.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including understanding of accounting concepts, cash-flow requirements, and ability to assess credit/risk for diverse portfolios.
- Ability to make sound decisions under ambiguity and identify early warning signals of deteriorating business.
- Expertise in relationship management and selling skills, including linking product features to customer needs and negotiating mutually beneficial solutions.
- Collaborative approach with strong networking skills and ability to work across teams to deliver value-added solutions.
