About the Role

 

As a Chief Financial Officer, you are responsible for the overall finance function for the bank’s operation in Papua New Guinea (PNG) including the following:

 

  • Being accountable for the provision of accurate and timely Group and Local financial information, and ensuring that all Financial reporting and Finance owned Regulatory reporting obligations across the Country are adequately met
  • Country KRA: Revenue, Expense, NPAT, ROE, Revenue/RWA and zCEP
  • Drive RoE improvement through insightful analysis of performance by products & customer segments. 
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders (Regulators, Group Finance, Auditors and Consultants) and ensuring timely and accurate submission of all data requests.
  • Deliver an enhanced regulatory reporting control environment including compliance with the Regulatory Reporting Compliance Procedure (“RRCP”) for local regulatory reporting. 
  • No repeat GIA 3 or 4 issues, and no overdue KPMG management letter points.  Embed compliance with policy and procedure (eg BSOR, Regulatory reporting procedure).

  • No significant issues identified in Finance owned regulatory reporting or other regulatory breaches 
  • Continue to leverage hubs for financial control and regulatory reporting to improve productivity and ensure standardisation of financial control and reporting activities across ANZ
  • Drive and Influence key Business Decisions by providing greater Business Insight, effectively utilize ICIS, draw meaning and empower the business with appropriate MIS.
  • Provide quality MI with insights on key metrics like revenue, cost and customer metrics (MIS) to LOBs and Country Management to drive performance against financial KRAs

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • A Bachelors’ university degree and be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or equivalent, with significant years of professional experience in financial services roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages Word and Excel (Intermediate). Strong exposure to ERP applications preferably Peoplesoft.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills as well as experience working with team members in an offshore location
  • Strong analytical and communication skills reflecting an ability to work with stakeholders at all seniority levels of the organisation
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Financial and Regulatory Reporting
    • Financial Services Industry experience preferred
    • Budgeting and cost control
    • Concern for quality and standards
    • Demonstrate Initiative
    • Succeeding through collaboration
    • Supporting and Managing Change
