About the Role
As an Analyst, Research & Analysis, PNG, you are expected to:
- Complete high quality credit analysis to achieve valuable business growth and cross-sell opportunities within acceptable risk appetite;
- Develop and maintain strong credit and financial analysis skills to support the end-to-end credit approval process for an identified portfolio of customers;
- Work closely with key stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Risk, and Product Partners to deliver the best results for our customers and the PNG business;
- Assist with Industry specific research and ongoing portfolio management functions; and
- Provide first line of defence (in conjunction with relationship), to ensure well managed framework, and manage credit risks within the PNG portfolio.

What will your day look like?
- Contribute to maximising profitable Institutional growth.
- Understand financial targets for Relationship Managers and ensure R&A is effectively contributing to the achievement of objectives.
- Help drive cross-divisional, cross-border and multi-product relationships through high quality analysis and insight to expand client engagement and capture opportunities within acceptable risk parameters.
- Ensure development / maintenance and application of industry / client knowledge at a market leading level. Apply this to facilitate leading client value-add solutions and superior risk analysis.
- Ensure adherence to ANZ policies, processes and external regulatory requirements.
- Ensure strong understanding of R&A processes and relevant dependent processes and product areas with a focus on continuous improvement
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Experience in relationship and credit analyst roles with strong analytical skills supporting sound commercial judgement and business instincts underpinning actions, recommendations and decisions;
- Development of knowledge and understanding of relevant industry segment;
- Ability to balance origination / business development activity with acceptable risk and look to optimise risk and reward opportunities;
- Thorough knowledge of credit and risk management principles, policies, and procedures; and
- Excellent teamwork orientation. Collaborative in style and involving others to reach objectives.
