Lending Services is a values-led team offering specialist skills and expertise in managing high risk customers to achieve balanced and sustainable outcomes for ANZ and the customer.

The Lending Services Manager role is responsible for managing a portfolio of high risk agri customers from various segments. In addition to client management you will be responsible for internal stakeholder management and maintaining a well-managed portfolio.

The customer base is exclusively Agri and travel is required, with customer meetings often taking place on farm.

Whilst the preference is for a candidate to be based in Perth, the role is also open to applications from regional candidates, with workplace location flexible by agreement.

What will your day look like?

Lending Services is focused on:

• Building a strong working relationship with our customers and assisting them to navigate through the issues their business is facing;
• Developing relationships with advisors including the Bank’s panel of lawyers and insolvency practitioners, to assist with implementation of account strategies;
• Keeping stakeholders within the Bank adequately informed of customer strategies and managing provisions so that there are no surprises; 
• Building a shadow function that is highly respected bank wide, assists frontline with management of their higher risk customers and earns Lending Services the title of ‘Trusted Advisor’
• Maintaining a well managed portfolio.

Working in Lending Services enables you to:

• Apply more intensive, judgmental and specialised management of the heightened credit risks that are present with Lending Services Customers.
• Develop financial restructuring solutions to assist with cash flow management and work with customer turnaround strategies toward rehabilitating their financial position and performance.
• Benefit from direct access to senior stakeholders within LS, Risk and a range of commercial business units to assist you in building future career prospects.

What will you bring?

With the inherent volatility within the Agribusiness sector from widespread natural disasters (drought, flood and fire), high inflation and changing farming practices with the increased focus on Responsible Lending practices within the Banking Industry, this role requires a broad range of skills and a highly motivated and dynamic individual.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Be resilient and curious, with the ability to have challenging discussions with customers; 
• Have strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills, with a good understanding of business, economic and legal issues;
• Sound problem solving & negotiation skills to achieve best results; 
• Tertiary qualifications in a business, finance and commerce discipline would be an advantage;
• An appropriate level of Agribusiness Experience would be highly regarded
