About the Role

As an Assistant Manager within our Business & Private Bank, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of strategic and operational priorities across commercial and private banking segments. This role focuses on driving business performance, supporting key initiatives, and ensuring strong alignment between business objectives and outcomes. This role offers hands-on exposure to a $5m-$15m lending portfolio within the Diversified Industries space, making it an ideal next step for anyone looking to build core commercial banking capability and deepen their credit experience.

Work Hours: Full time 40 hours/week

What will your day look like?

As an Assistant Manager, you will have the opportunity to: 

• Support our Relationship Managers in making banking easier for customers, providing customer solutions, and insights,
• Conduct financial analysis and develop and implement appropriate customer strategies,
• Establish and maintain a professional profile in the market and maintain an understanding of the customer’s industry and associated markets,
• Work collaboratively with other internal work functions and stakeholders, and
• Demonstrate living the ANZ Values with customers and colleagues

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Great financial literacy, analytical skills, commercial and business acumen,
• Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends,
• Prior experience in developing strong relationships in a customer delivery/ customer experience role,
• Sound understanding of the structuring of security arrangements,
• Experience in the banking industry is an advantage, but not a requirement, and
• Preferably possesses an accounting or finance degree or equivalent, though not a strict requirement.
