About the Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will partner with a Senior Relationship Manager to support a portfolio of customers across the health and property sectors. You will assist with relationship management, portfolio growth, credit analysis, risk management and customer outcomes, while working closely with product partners and internal stakeholders.

The Assistant Manager role is an integral part of our business service proposition. In this role, you will assist the Senior Relationship Manager to develop sustained business growth whilst maintaining sound risk management to ensure a quality portfolio is maintained. To maximise returns to the Group, the position requires close collaboration with product specialists, customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, deliver tailored banking solutions and achieve strong customer outcomes.

What will your day look like?

As an Assistant Manager, you will also have the opportunity to: 

  • Proactively develop and maintain a detailed understanding of our customer’s business and financial needs
  • Act in the best interest of the customer and apply a customer-centric approach, to support the customer’s business needs with suitable products and services
  • Provide appropriate solutions towards account maintenance and customer needs
  • Maintain a well-managed portfolio, compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Maintain control of workflows across all compliance and customer fulfilment processes
  • Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to fulfill customer needs

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  •  Ability to help manage strong customer relationships by handling service queries and solving minor issues
  • Strong communication skills to assist customers effectively
  • Attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts
  • Ability to assess a customer's ability to fulfill their credit obligations, considering both qualitative and quantitative factors
  • Strong financial literacy, analytical skills, commercial and business acumen
  • Ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of customer documentation, banking transactions, and internal communications
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, risk management concepts, particularly in credit and market risk
