About Us

Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.

About the Role

As an Operations and Outsourcing Governance Manager, you will act as the first-line governance lead for outsourcing and operational support service arrangements within Operations for ANZ Europe SA. The role is responsible for coordinating and driving the end-to-end outsourcing lifecycle, including classification, due diligence, risk assessment, regulatory readiness, register maintenance, ongoing oversight, issue escalation, and exit planning, in line with ANZ Group frameworks and applicable APRA, EBA, ECB, and DORA requirements.

You will also support the Head of Operations in the governance and implementation of broader business support services required for the Operations function and ANZ Europe SA’s operating model. This is a proactive individual contributor role requiring strong judgement, autonomy, and the ability to influence outcomes across stakeholders without direct authority.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

  • Drive first-line execution of the outsourcing and third-party governance framework, ensuring arrangements are identified, classified, documented and aligned to regulatory expectations and ANZ standards
  • Coordinate pre-outsourcing activities, including outsourcing and materiality assessments, risk inputs, IRQ completion, and tracking of approvals and actions
  • Prepare and quality-check governance artefacts such as notification packs, risk summaries, register extracts, control evidence and management papers
  • Maintain the outsourcing register as an accurate, complete and auditable source of truth with clear rationale for classifications and updates
  • Support DORA-aligned ICT third-party governance activities, including register accuracy, contractual requirements, oversight, and resilience readiness
  • Monitor contractual compliance obligations, including audit rights, regulatory access, confidentiality, BCP, subcontracting controls and exit provisions
  • Track and coordinate ongoing oversight activities such as KPI/SLA reviews, incidents, assurance activities, BCP testing, exit planning and concentration risk
  • Prepare reporting for governance forums and senior management on outsourcing status, risks, breaches and remediation actions
  • Provide guidance and training to business owners on outsourcing governance requirements
  • Support governance and implementation of shared business support services and operational processes within ANZ Europe SA’s operating model
  • Assist with operational readiness and execution activities including documentation, process mapping, stakeholder follow-ups and closure of governance actions
  • Identify governance gaps or control weaknesses and drive remediation while partnering with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal and Procurement to ensure consistent, regulator-ready outcomes

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in banking or regulated financial services, with exposure to outsourcing governance, third-party risk, or operational risk and controls
  • Strong knowledge of EBA, APRA/ACPR, ECB and DORA requirements and their practical application
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes end-to-end
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with structured issue management and escalation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability across first line, second line, and group functions
  • Ability to produce clear, regulator-ready and senior management reporting
  • Experience maintaining governance artefacts, registers, and ensuring data quality and audit readiness
  • Exposure to EU regulatory environments and engagement with senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, including French language proficiency (spoken and written) to effectively engage with local regulators and stakeholders and support French-language documentation requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience
