About the Role

As a member of the Corporate Coverage team, you will hold senior accountability for building and deepening ANZ Europe SA's strategic relationships with priority Institutional clients across Europe.

 

Origination is the core focus of this role. You will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting a high-quality pipeline of new-to-bank clients and opportunities across European markets, with a particular focus on leveraging ANZ Europe SA's European passporting capabilities to expand the bank's corporate franchise. Working at the forefront of ANZ's growth agenda, you will play a key role in delivering the ambitions of the ANZ 2030 Strategy by accelerating new client acquisition, increasing wallet share and establishing ANZ as a trusted banking partner to leading European corporates.


You will lead complex client engagements, mobilising expertise from across Transaction Banking, Markets, Corporate Finance, Credit, Risk and Legal to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions. In addition to driving growth, you will maintain strong portfolio discipline, exercise sound commercial and risk judgement, and ensure all activities are executed in line with ANZ's regulatory, governance and risk standards.

What will your day look like?

As the Director for Corporate Coverage, you will: 

  • Build and convert a high-quality pipeline of new-to-bank clients across European markets, leveraging ANZ Europe SA's passporting capabilities to support the ANZ’s growth ambitions 
  • Develop and execute client coverage strategies that deepen relationships, increase wallet share and deliver sustainable revenue growth
  • Lead complex client engagements by bringing together expertise from Transaction Banking, Markets, Corporate Finance, Credit, Risk and Legal teams to deliver integrated banking solutions
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships across corporate clients, advisers, industry participants and internal stakeholders to generate opportunities and market insights
  • Exercise sound commercial and risk judgement while managing portfolio performance, credit quality and regulatory obligations

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong Institutional Banking experience with a track record of managing complex corporate relationships and delivering business growth
  • Deep understanding of European corporates, corporate banking products and client financing needs
  • Proven success originating and winning new-to-bank business opportunities
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to develop and execute client growth strategies
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across complex environments
  • Strong credit, risk and portfolio management capability
  • Recent experience covering European corporate clients, particularly in the Spanish, Dutch and/or Nordic markets
  • Established networks across the European corporate, banking and advisory communities
  • Experience working in international and cross-border banking environments
  • Exposure to credit risk, portfolio management or transaction structuring
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Dutch or a Nordic language (highly regarded)

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is Euros 150,000 to 175,000 annual.

 

This range is determined by the job, location and level of expertise required for this specific role. The final salary offered will consider your capabilities, skills and knowledge.
