Ngā Tapuwae is ANZ New Zealand’s multi-year transformation programme, shaping the future of banking by making it simpler, faster and safer for our customers. As Test Manager, this role offers the opportunity to lead quality at scale across a complex, high-profile programme. You will shape how testing is approached end-to-end, influencing strategy, guiding delivery and giving senior stakeholders the clarity they need to make confident decisions through your insights on quality, risk and readiness.

 

You will play a central role in how we deliver great customer experiences, ensuring solutions are tested in smarter, more efficient ways with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement. Your work will directly support the performance, stability and reliability of critical banking applications, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, simplicity and putting the customer first.

Role Type: 12-month fixed-term

Hours: Standard, 37.5 hours per week

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading end-to-end testing across Ngā Tapuwae initiatives, shaping how quality is delivered at scale
  • Creating clear, practical test plans that set delivery up for success
  • Partnering closely with business, product and technology teams to stay aligned on priorities and outcomes
  • Coordinating testing across teams and partners to keep complex delivery moving smoothly
  • Driving high-quality execution across SIT, UAT and beyond, ensuring solutions are ready for customers
  • Providing clear, trusted insights on progress, risk and readiness to support confident decisions
  • Managing defects and risks with a calm, structured approach that keeps delivery on track
  • Embedding a strong customer focus, with accessibility and simplicity front of mind
  • Championing automation and modern testing practices to deliver smarter, faster outcomes
  • Growing capability across the programme by coaching others and lifting testing maturity

 

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

 

  • Strong experience in testing, with proven leadership as a Test Lead or Test Manager
  • Confidence shaping test strategies, plans and reporting that support delivery success
  • A solid understanding of SDLC and agile ways of working such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Hands-on experience across functional and non-functional testing
  • The ability to manage defects, risks and dependencies with clarity and sound judgement
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
  • A self-led, organised approach with a focus on outcomes and delivery
  • A collaborative mindset, with experience mentoring and supporting others to grow
