Technical Delivery Lead
Ko Mātou – About Us
Kia Hanga I Te Ao, E Ora Ai, E Tupu Ai, Te Tangata Me Te Kainga. At ANZ, we’re shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking for a Technical Delivery Lead who enjoys bringing people together, creating clarity and helping teams deliver great outcomes. This role sits at the heart of our New Zealand Technology business and is ideal for someone who has a strong grounding in infrastructure engineering and is ready to step into a role with more influence, visibility and connection.
You will guide and coordinate initiatives that need a structured, thoughtful approach to delivery. You will help shape the design and quality of our infrastructure solutions across virtualisation, server, identity and Infrastructure as Code. Just as importantly, you will be the trusted engagement point for our Technology Operations and Integration teams, helping others understand what is needed and why.
Role Type: Permanent, full time
Role Location: Auckland or Wellington. Let us know what works for you.
Work Hours: Standard, 37.5 hours per week
Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
You will work closely with a wide range of people, from deeply technical engineers to business stakeholders who value your ability to communicate with warmth, clarity and confidence. You will help create shared understanding, guide decision making and ensure that the right work is delivered in the right way.
This role is responsible for the design, development and quality of our infrastructure solutions across hardware, software and Infrastructure as Code. In this role you will:
- act as the first point of contact for prioritisation and delivery questions across key projects
- bring people together to understand needs, shape problem statements and translate technical detail into clear, accessible language
- design, develop and guide the quality of infrastructure solutions across hardware, software and automation
- ensure documentation is clear, complete and easy for others to follow
- support transformation activities and help teams adopt modern engineering practices
- align your work with ANZ strategy, governance and regulatory requirements
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
We know you may not have experience with every part of our infrastructure stack, and that is completely fine. What matters most is your ability to listen, connect with others and create clarity. If you bring strong people skills, a collaborative mindset and a solid grounding in infrastructure engineering, we can teach you the rest.
You will thrive in this role if you:
- have experience in infrastructure engineering, such as virtualisation, server technologies, identity services or automation
- feel comfortable engaging with a wide range of people and building positive, trusting relationships
- enjoy translating technical detail into clear, human‑centred language
- can bring people together to understand needs and shape problem statements
- are curious, thoughtful and open to learning new tools, technologies and ways of working
- have supported production environments or end‑to‑end IT operations in the past
- feel confident guiding conversations, prioritising work and helping teams stay aligned
- want to grow into a role with more influence, visibility and connection
