Mō te tūranga - About the role

ANZ is undergoing a significant multi-year technology transformation and is seeking an experienced Solution Architect who specialises in strategy, governance and architectural direction. This is a senior, influential role focused on shaping roadmaps, defining transition states and ensuring solution decisions are strategically aligned, future‑ready and well governed.

 

Working at the intersection of enterprise strategy and delivery, you will guide complex programmes from vision through to implementation. You will help translate strategic intent into clear architectural direction, ensuring governance and integrity across initiatives while enabling adaptable and incremental delivery.

 

This role offers the opportunity to work on initiatives with genuine organisational impact. It is well suited to someone who enjoys operating at a strategic level, partnering with senior stakeholders, and shaping how strategy becomes reality.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

In this role, you will:

  • Shape programme roadmaps and transition architectures aligned to target states and strategy
  • Provide architectural governance and standards to ensure enterprise alignment and coherence
  • Lead options analysis and recommend solutions balancing strategic fit, risk, cost, and value
  • Ensure integrated, customer‑centred solution designs across the broader technology landscape
  • Maintain traceability between strategy, roadmaps, and solution decisions while influencing prioritisation, managing dependencies and guiding sequencing across initiatives
  • Collaborate with product, delivery, security, and technical teams to ensure feasibility and alignment

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

You will ideally bring a strong mix of strategic thinking, architectural governance and stakeholder influence, along with:

 

  • Proven Solution Architect experience in large-scale, complex transformation programmes
  • Strong capability in strategy, roadmap development, and governance-led architecture
  • Experience defining transition states and high‑level architectures in evolving environments
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and providing clarity to senior stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of integration, data architecture, and cloud platforms
  • Ability to embed security, compliance, and performance into solution design
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technology
  • Collaborative approach, partnering effectively with business design and customer experience teams
