Mō te tūranga - About the role
ANZ is undergoing a significant technological transformation and is seeking a Solution Architect to guide the design and implementation of innovative lending solutions for ANZ New Zealand. This role will help shape the future of our lending platforms to provide our customer and bankers with modern tools and processes that delight.
As a Solution Architect in the Architecture team, you’ll play a key role in defining and qualifying architectural decisions, constraints, and patterns within the Lending Tech Area. You’ll ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and resilient across the organisation, while assessing and designing solution options and providing support to engineers. Ultimately, you’ll help deliver technology outcomes that improve customer experience and operational efficiency in lending.

As a Solution Architect at ANZ, you’ll provide technical leadership to ensure architectures are practical, scalable, and deliver real business value. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our lending platforms by guiding design decisions, setting architectural direction, and ensuring solutions align with business goals and customer needs.
Key activities will include:
- Designing technology solutions that support lending transformation.
- Developing architectural patterns and guidance to provide clear delivery paths.
- Collaborating with project teams to provide direction and support.
- Partnering with business stakeholders to translate challenges into effective solutions.
- Ensuring designs align with security, risk, and data requirements.
- Providing architectural stewardship, engaging with vendors, and advising on strategic improvements while balancing immediate delivery with long-term vision.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- Experience as a Solutions Architect in medium to large enterprise. Banking environments would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills to understand and break down business stakeholders' needs, translating them into actionable solution options.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels, demonstrating your ability to influence, collaborate, and negotiate effectively to inform decision-making.
- The ability to fit comfortably within a team environment and provide strong technology leadership.
- Understanding of integration, data and dealing with large complex technology environments.
- Extensive experience in lending solutions and be knowledgeable in the practicable application of the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) reference model
