Mō te tūranga - About the role

Our Business Service Specialists are responsible for delivering market-leading service that meets the financial needs of our Business and Agri customers. We focus on creating a seamless and positive customer experience by identifying individual needs, following a structured service process, and recommending tailored financial solutions. Where new or additional credit is required, the role involves referring customers to their Relationship Manager or Business Lending Specialist. In addition to solution delivery, the role plays a key part in customer retention through proactive outreach, including term deposit rollovers, business check in conversations and promoting the use of preferred service channels. The Business Service Specialist engages with customers through phone, email, and outbound calling, ensuring consistent, high-quality service across all interactions.

 

Taipito kōrero mō te Tūranga – Role Details

Start Date: Monday 19 October 2026

 

Training: 10 of training from the start date, Monday to Friday, likely to be 8:30am to 4:30pm, 7.5hrs per day, 37.5hrs per week

 

Working Hours: Tuesday to Saturday OR Monday to Friday, starting between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00am weekdays, and fixed 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday.

 

Location: Auckland, Wellington, Whangarei, Hamilton and Tauranga. Please note as a flexible working role there is a requirement to work a minimum of 50% on site at Corporate Sites.

In this role, you would have the opportunity to:

 

  • Support Kiwis in launching their businesses by setting them up for success with our banking services and providing access to market-leading insights.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences through our virtual channels, including phone, email, and our online store
  • Handle inbound calls, respond to customer emails, and proactively reach out to business customers to assist with their banking needs.
  • Build strong, positive relationships by ensuring every interaction is easy, efficient, and accurate
  • Drive customer retention through proactive engagement, including term deposit rollovers, business check in conversations and promoting preferred service channels
  • Bring the ANZ Values to life in every interaction—with both customers and colleagues

 

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • A solid background in Personal Lending and proven experience in banking, financial services, insurance, lending, or a similar regulated customer service environment.
  • A passion for helping customers, taking ownership of enquiries from start to finish, and delivering great outcomes.
  • A genuine interest in learning about business customers and business structures, with a desire to build your business knowledge and skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with customers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Confidence using multiple systems, processes, and communication channels, while balancing customer needs with risk and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the resilience and adaptability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
