We currently have a vacancy for an exciting new role working in our Solution Design and Data Modelling Team as a Senior Technology Business Analyst, working with the team to break down a high-level design into a set of key artefacts that enable engineering teams to build the technical components needed.
You’ll apply your analytical skills to understand, validate, and articulate business problems and opportunities, translating them into clear, actionable requirements and solution options. Your work will help shape smarter, more efficient processes that deliver real value to our customers and stakeholders.
You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative technical team in a space that’s evolving and full of opportunity, with a mix of customer focused, digital and tech loving delivery folk, who are passionate about formulating and delivering experiences to our customers and bankers. . Role Location: This role is based in Wellington or Auckland, New Zealand
Role Type: 12-month Secondment
Hours: Standard 37.5 hours per week

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to breaking down large High-level designs into a set of key artefacts ready for Delivery teams to build.
- Work alongside a range of technical SMES and stakeholders, being proficient at bridging Business and technology.
- Extract and distill requirements using tools like JIRA and Confluence, before working to turn them into technical solutions.
- Identify and raise technology and operational risks, issues, and their potential impacts.
- Spot opportunities for continuous improvement and support the implementation of effective solutions
- Facilitate and participate in activities that enhance delivery quality, reduce costs, or improve timeliness.
- Proactively build knowledge of ANZ tools and techniques (e.g. QBR, ADF, Agile) to enhance customer outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced Technology Business Analyst, with a strong Technical background, who is keen to be part of a team building a strong culture with a sense of belonging and respect; who are passionate about delivering for our customers; and who are relentless in their pursuit of simplification, efficiency and quality of delivery.
To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- Technical expertise in APIs, UIs, Events – ANZ Systems knowledge would be very beneficial.
- 5+ years of experience working within Technology teams, or Solution Design in highly distributed technical environments as a Technology Business Analyst.
- Collaborative problem-solver with an agile, solutions-focused mindset
- BIAN Domain Knowledge would be very beneficial
- Ability to work within and with agile squads, adapt to emerging changes and drive excellent outcomes.
- Curious and committed to continuous learning and self-development
- Clear and confident communicator – written, verbal, and visual
- Experience with data mapping would be highly beneficial
- Positive, can-do attitude with a supportive approach
- Adaptable and open to change, offering constructive input and support to wider team
- In depth understanding of software development principles and practices
