Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Senior Project Leader in the Delivery Practice team, you’ll play a key role in leading large, complex projects and programs of work from a strategic, operational and people perspective. You’ll work with the business to ensure projects and programs are set up for success and that deliverables and outcomes are aligned to the Business Strategy.
This role is also responsible for supporting teams with leadership and strategic guidance on program-related decisions, ensuring quality outcomes that align with the intended program objectives and value.

The Senior Project Leader role includes the following key responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of large and complex projects and programs, governance activities such as finance, procurement, interdependencies, stakeholder engagement, risk management and resourcing.
- Work breakdown structure, planning and scheduling.
- Strategic alignment & business value - translate strategic objectives into a sequenced program roadmap. Partner with business sponsors to define Objective Key Results, monitor the tracking of benefits realisation, and support the embedding of change into BAU operations.
- Translate data into insights and provide guidance to support business decisions and deliver stronger customer centric solutions.
Ōu Pūkenga - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive project management experience, leading the delivery of large complex programs, preferably in Banking or Finance.
- Strong knowledge and proven application of project governance and various methodologies including Agile and waterfall delivery.
- Strong project/program planning and scheduling experience and skills.
- Proven relationship building capabilities, influencing and effective stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas clearly, engage stakeholders across all levels, and create a shared understanding through effective communication.
- Ability to work across multiple locations including vendor management.
- Strategic decision-making ability, critical thinking and problem solving
- Previous experience providing effective leadership to project teams.
- Adaptability and resilience to work comfortably with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
