Mō te tūranga - About the role
In Technology Operations Delivery (TOD), we deliver technology solutions which include new initiatives, significant system upgrades, and remediation activity to support the wider Tech Ops domain and our business stakeholders. As the Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will play a key role in a domain focused on foundational technology projects and initiatives that underpin the bank’s platforms.
The Business Analysis capability enables the delivery of effective technical business analysis services for large complex initiatives. This includes collaborating with customers, stakeholders and technology partners to delivery customer outcomes. Additionally, it involves proactive participation in the analysis domain through mentoring/coaching, as well as identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you would have the opportunity to:
- Document business processes, workflows, and technical specifications for foundational technology projects
- Build and maintain effective relationships with peers, colleagues, managers, and other key stakeholders; anticipating and responding to evolving customer needs through controlling and delivering project communications
- Lead & participate in Daily Standups, Planning, Ceremonies, Reviews and Retrospectives
- Shape and sustain the analysis approach in a complex environment, managing interdependencies across streams
- Supporting the Project Manager, Senior Technical Leads to ensure delivery meets critical program timelines
- Contribute to managing risks and issues using the ANZ Delivery Framework and ensuring delivery of Project controls ie. Security and Cloud
- Support incident and change management activities, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks.
- Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes and identify dependencies
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- A proven track record of five years plus at a Senior Business Analysis level
- Experience gained across a variety of project types, especially large transformation programmes and ability to thrive in complexity
- Experience with data, analytics, production support and change management will be an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in complex environments.
- Excellent facilitation skills for workshops and stakeholder meetings.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders within the business and technology
- Ability to articulate and explain technical information to senior stakeholders, peers and managers using the appropriate medium
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Office Suite.
- Foundational cloud knowledge would be an advantage (eg. AWS, GCP or Azure)
