Mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking an experienced Programme Scheduler to join a large-scale technology transformation programme. This is a critical role in establishing and maintaining an integrated programme schedule using Microsoft Project, enabling visibility of the critical path, dependencies, and variance across multiple workstreams.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
As the Programme Scheduler in a large transformation programme, you will be responsible for:
Develop and Maintain the Programme Schedule
- Build and manage a master schedule in Microsoft Project, integrating inputs from multiple workstreams and vendors.
- Define and maintain the programme’s Work Breakdown Structure
- Define and track critical path, dependencies, and milestones.
- Ensure alignment between Jira-based agile tracking and the programme plan.
Schedule Analysis and Reporting
- Monitor progress, identify variances, and proactively provide impact analysis on timelines.
- Produce regular reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders, highlighting risks and schedule performance.
Integration and Governance
- Work closely with Programme Managers, Delivery Leads, and Vendors to ensure accurate and timely updates.
- Support governance forums with schedule insights and scenario planning.
Continuous Improvement
- Establish scheduling standards, templates, and processes for the programme.
- Recommend tools and practices to improve schedule accuracy and predictability.
- Assist in training of delivery teams in the use of MS Project to enhance accuracy of schedules and reporting process

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven experience in programme scheduling for large-scale transformation programmes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project (including master schedules and linked subprojects).
- Strong understanding of critical path analysis, dependency management, and variance reporting.
- Ability to consolidate agile delivery data (e.g., Jira) into high-level schedules.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience in banking or financial services transformation programmes.
- Familiarity with vendor software implementation projects.
- Knowledge of PMO governance and reporting frameworks.
