Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Mainframe Platform Administrator at ANZ, you will play a vital role in keeping our core banking services secure, stable and available around the clock. You will support and maintain our IBM Mainframe operational infrastructure, helping ensure platform services continue to meet business service delivery targets while remaining compliant, resilient and future ready.
Working at the heart of our technology operations, this role supports the smooth running of critical systems that underpin the bank. You will contribute to strong platform outcomes through reliable operations, thoughtful change delivery and continuous improvement, helping ANZ deliver dependable services to customers every day.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Standard)
Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
You will be responsible for:
- Resolving incident, problem, change and service request tickets within agreed SLA timeframes
- Monitoring the Mainframe environment and supporting incident detection, resolution and reporting
- Managing escalations, follow‑ups and ticket closure through the company call management system
- Coordinating with third‑party service providers to progress and resolve technical requests
- Scoping change activity and preparing impact assessments to support safe delivery
- Creating and executing test plans to validate changes prior to implementation
- Scheduling and delivering approved work and change activities in line with change governance
- Completing system administration tasks including software installs, builds, package testing and configuration
- Maintaining accurate operational procedures, processes and technical documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement, peer review, mentoring and knowledge sharing within the team

We are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful, reliable approach to their work and enjoys contributing to a collaborative technical team. Ideally, you will have:
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a way others can understand
- Comfort working with a variety of people across different situations, adapting your communication style as needed
- The ability to stay focused under pressure, balance priorities and work steadily towards agreed timelines
- Strong listening and problem‑solving skills, with a willingness to ask questions and confirm understanding
- Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing to team outcomes
- Experience supporting IBM Mainframe environments in an enterprise setting, with depth built over time
- Practical knowledge of IBM z/OS and Mainframe hardware platforms
- Exposure to RACF security concepts and controls
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as CICS, MQ or IIB, with an interest in building capability where needed
- An openness to learning and sharing knowledge, with experience or curiosity around performance, monitoring or storage tools such as Omegamon
