About the Role

 

As a Director, Transaction Banking Financial Institution Sales – USA, you will lead the growth and profitability of the Financial Institutions client portfolio across North America, with a local dotted‑line reporting relationship to the Head of Transaction Banking, USA.

 

You will define and execute the Transaction Banking FI sales strategy for the USA, using strong people and industry leadership to expand market share and strengthen the Transaction Banking franchise across North America. The role covers a global FI client base including Banks, Insurers, Funds and Financial Sponsors, requiring close coordination with key stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Singapore and Hong Kong.

 

Operating in a rapidly evolving payments and trade environment, the role demands a strong understanding of industry innovation alongside a disciplined focus on risk and compliance. Success will be driven through effective partnership with Product, Relationship, Operations, Risk and Compliance teams to deliver sustainable and well‑managed growth.

What will your day look like?

 

In this dynamic role, your day will be filled with high-impact activities that drive client success and business growth across regions.

 

As a Director, Transaction Banking Financial Institution Sales – USA, you will;

 

  • Drive growth of the Transaction Banking FI business by identifying and executing sales opportunities across new and existing clients
  • Own P&L and balance sheet accountability across Clearing, FI Trade, Payments and Cash Management portfolios
  • Co‑create and execute clear, actionable sales strategies in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Partner closely with TB FI Account Management, FIG Coverage, Product, Operations and Service to define business strategy and improve processes
  • Lead customer planning activities, actively progressing new business opportunities with Relationship Managers and Product teams
  • Understand client needs and monitor performance across product utilisation, revenue and volumes
  • Develop and present client proposals, presentations and training on ANZ’s Transaction Banking capabilities and industry developments
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service quality, process efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Ensure consistent execution in line with policies, processes and documentation requirements
  • Proactively identify and escalate risk and compliance matters as required
  • Lead and develop the USA FI Transaction Banking Sales team, with direct people‑management accountability
  • Manage risk and return within established frameworks, ensuring adherence to Group Risk policies and regulatory requirements

 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Strong product knowledge across FI Trade, Clearing, Payments and Cash Management
  • Proven experience in Transaction Banking sales and/or relationship management within the Financial Institutions segment
  • Established client relationships with strong sales, negotiation and presentation capability
  • Commercially driven self‑starter with disciplined sales execution
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across internal teams
  • Team‑oriented leader who can also operate independently and deliver results
  • Clear customer focus with the ability to take a broad, strategic perspective

Compensation

 

The base salary range for this position is US$200,000 to US$240,000 plus bonus

 

This range is determined by the job, location and level of expertise required for this specific role.  The final salary offered will consider your capabilities, skills and knowledge
