The Head of Mobile Specialists is a newly created and highly influential leadership role within our Customer Engagement function. This role will shape the future of ANZ’s mobile lending proposition and play a pivotal part in accelerating growth across our proprietary home lending portfolio.
Leading our national team of Mobile Mortgage Managers across Aotearoa, you’ll partner closely with the Home Owners Product and Customer Value Proposition teams to shape and deliver a clear, forward‑looking strategy for the mobile lending channel. With a strong customer‑first mindset, you’ll stay attuned to market dynamics, technology advancements, and evolving customer behaviours—ensuring our proposition remains compelling, competitive, and distinctly customer‑led.
This will be an exciting role for a seasoned, strategic leader. We’re seeking someone with deep expertise in residential property lending, a proven track record of building and leading high‑performing teams at scale, and the credibility to influence across the enterprise. You’ll be passionate about developing talent, strengthening our employee value proposition, and cultivating strong internal and external relationships that drive sustainable growth.

Role Location: Auckland preferred, but open to candidates in Wellington or Christchurch given this role leads teams nationally.

The Head of Mobile Specialists is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:
- Establish and lead the strategic direction for ANZ’s mobile lending channel, playing a pivotal role in reshaping the proposition and accelerating proprietary lending growth in line with the ANZ 2030 strategy.
- Provide national leadership to Mobile Mortgage Managers and Associates, building a high‑performing, customer‑first culture that champions accountability, inclusion, capability uplift, and sustainable performance.
- Transform how mobile lending operates by strengthening end‑to‑end support models, leveraging technology, digital tools, and data to lift productivity, customer outcomes, and engagement at scale.
- Drive safe, responsible, and sustainable growth by embedding strong risk, compliance, and quality assurance disciplines, ensuring customer trust and long‑term value creation.
- Proactively identify and manage non‑financial risks, ensuring the mobile lending business is well‑governed, resilient, and aligned to ANZ’s conduct and regulatory expectations.
- Continuously evolve the proposition through market benchmarking, insight‑led decision making, and adoption of best practice to keep ANZ competitive in a rapidly changing lending environment.
- Act as a senior ambassador for the mobile lending channel, building strong internal and external relationships that enhance ANZ’s brand, influence, and business development opportunities.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Deep, hands on expertise in the New Zealand home lending market, with a strong understanding of customer behaviour, competitor landscapes, and the commercial levers that drive sustainable growth.
- Senior leadership experience in comparable roles, ideally leading large scale sales or mobile lending teams, with clear accountability for commercial outcomes.
- Advanced lending, credit, and risk capability, including end to end credit lifecycle management, portfolio oversight, and a strong command of regulatory, compliance, and conduct obligations.
- Proven ability to lead transformation in complex environments, successfully navigating change, embedding new ways of working, and lifting performance through continuous improvement.
- Strong commercial and performance orientation, with demonstrated success accelerating growth through disciplined execution, data informed decision making, and effective performance management.
- Credibility and influence across the wider industry, with the experience and confidence to build strong internal partnerships, leverage external networks, and represent the business at a senior level.
- A deeply embedded customer first leadership approach, translating customer insight into strategy, culture, and execution to deliver long term value for customers and the Bank.
