Mō te tūranga - About the role

As Executive Director, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), you'll play a pivotal role in leading ANZ's relationships with a portfolio of local and international banks and payment service providers. You'll develop trusted partnerships with senior decision-makers, identify growth opportunities, and bring together ANZ's institutional banking capabilities to deliver market-leading solutions and long-term value for clients.

This role provides senior representation of ANZ across the financial institutions sector and contributes to the broader Institutional strategy, balancing commercial growth with sound risk management and regulatory obligations.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

As Executive Director, FIG, you'll lead some of ANZ's most important financial institution relationships, helping shape strategy, drive growth and deliver outstanding client outcomes.

You will:

• Lead and deepen relationships with banks and payment providers, acting as a trusted adviser to senior executives and key decision-makers.
• Develop and execute client strategies that grow revenue, strengthen partnerships and increase ANZ's share of wallet.
• Originate and deliver complex banking solutions by leveraging expertise across Markets, Transaction Banking, Financing and the broader Institutional business.
• Identify emerging client, industry and regulatory trends, translating insights into commercial opportunities and strategic outcomes.
• Champion strong risk management practices, ensuring regulatory, governance, credit and customer obligations are effectively managed.
• Contribute to the broader FIG strategy while mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To thrive in this role, you'll bring deep relationship banking expertise, strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence outcomes across complex stakeholder environments.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Significant experience in institutional, corporate or relationship banking, preferably covering the Banks sector, with a proven track record managing complex client portfolios.

• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
• Commercial acumen and business development capability, with experience identifying opportunities and delivering sustainable growth.
• Knowledge of financial institutions, payments, financial markets, transaction banking, financing solutions or related products and services.
• Strong understanding of risk, governance, compliance and regulatory frameworks within a highly regulated environment.
• Proven leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and collaborating across diverse teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
