About the Role

As a Markets Risk and Operational Risk Manager in our ANZ India Branch, you’ll play a key role in providing oversight of the Traded Market Risk (50%), Non-Traded Market Risk (35%) and second-line Operational Risk (15%) activities of the India Global Markets business with a view of ensuring that all material risks are identified, quantified using appropriate methodologies and managed/monitored against approved risk limits or in line with internal policy and risk framework requirements. The role will also support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in administering risk governance for ANZ India

Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

What will your day look like?

  • Ensure accuracy and understanding of inputs used in capital calculations.
  • Oversee local valuation frameworks (curves, liquidity, observability, etc.) and explain key daily risk metrics such as VaR, NPV, and DV01 among others.
  • Provide expertise in risk and valuation of INR products, including ModMifor, OIS, and Bond Forwards.
  • Partner with stakeholders to meet RBI market risk regulations and minimize operational and compliance risks.
  • Ensure adherence to the bank’s Market Risk framework while incorporating local regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee trading‑floor operational risk and ensure alignment with Compliance and Operational Risk frameworks.
  • Identify, analyze, and explain all Market Risks (Trading, Liquidity, IRRBB, NTFX), including inputs to VaR, stress-testing, back‑testing, and liquidity assessments.
  • Lead relevant Risk initiatives and enforce good governance through the India Credit and Market Risk Committee (CMRC).
  • Keep stakeholders informed of key Market and Operational Risk issues and promptly escalate breaches or significant incidents.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Markets Risk across Traded and Balance Sheet portfolios.
  • Strong Operational Risk, complemented by high learning agility and a growth‑oriented mindset.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and action‑driven, with a track record of taking initiative to resolve issues
  • Skilled in influencing outcomes, managing diverse stakeholders, and navigating competing priorities with professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
