About the role

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
Role Type: 12 month secondment, Full-time


APRA have introduced a new APS 112 and APS 113 standards in 2021 to be implemented on 1 January 2023.


The Capital Reforms Assurance Expert will play a pivotal role in delivering Change Risk activities (Operational Risk Assessment & Delivery Risk Management) and identifying controls and assurance activities replied upon to ensure ANZ is compliant with new regulatory standards.

What will your day look like

As a Capital Reforms Assurance Expert, you will be responsible for

  • Supporting the Capital Reforms project team in collating controls and assurance activities replied upon to meet regulatory standards across Distribution, Products, Operations and Risk
  • Helping assess key controls and assurance activities relied upon to mitigate key business risks in accordance with the group wide Operational Risk framework
  • Working with respective business stakeholders to provide guidance and advice on appropriate remediation activities needed, where tangible control deficiencies are identified
  • Supporting the Operational Risk and Compliance Lead in delivering the Operational Risk Assessment for the Capital Reforms Project
  • Establishing and cultivating a curious mind-set culture within the team that challenges status quo and explores continuous improvements for the betterment of the business

  • A thirst for learning about risk management in a large financial services organisation
  • Experience in financial services, or a large corporate environment, preferably in a risk related role (e.g. risk, assurance, audit or compliance) – but not essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in operational risk frameworks, methodologies, policies, and practices
  • Desire to identify, assess and improve the control environment
  • Willingness to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate
  • Analytical, flexible and curious
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships
