About the role

 

A UX Designer choreographs the end-to-end experience of a digital application to ensure it performs the desired function in a usable, navigable and pleasing way. UX Designers create many of the requirements for front-end developers and visual (UI) designers. 


As a Junior UX Designer, you will be working with a multidisciplinary team of squad members and business stakeholders focused on designing simple and seamless experiences and customer and staff touch points in Home loans. You will apply your skills and work collaboratively with the project/team members to come up with the best solution to improve our customer’s financial well being.    


This role supports the Intelligent automation EDIA portfolio to Deliver enterprise solutions that makes the right data & automation services accessible to our people and customers, through tools and channels that drive faster and more informed decision-making, removing friction and ultimately delivering an excellent customer experience.

What will your day look like

 

•    Project scoping: Scope and plan design activities in a project, ensuring the design activities remain on track and are set up for success.
•    Design research: Ability to plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research to understand customer needs and opportunities across all stages of the design process.
•    Analysis and synthesis: Document research insights and translate them into actionable design opportunities. Provide compelling rational for the design decisions made.
•    Ideation: Use collaborative ideation techniques to create and validate solutions.
•    Information Architecture: Understand and apply the relationship between information/content, narrative, and interaction from the perspective of the bank, our teams, and our customers to drive efficient and valuable UX.
•    Prototyping: Leverage your experience to choose the appropriate use of user flows, wireframes and potential service touch points to ideate and validate solutions. 
•    User testing: Lead, plan and conduct testing of prototypes with users. Capturing insights and feedback to inform business and technical requirements.
•    Design artefacts: Craft and deliver design artefacts that are high quality, consistent and coherent with alignment with our Design Strategy and Design System.
•    Framework and standards: Ensure that our design methodologies, standards and frameworks are adhered to and drive consistently engaging user experiences. 
•    Coaching: Ability to increase the design maturity of the team, building rapport and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
•    Accessibility: Proven understanding, knowledge and experience working with accessibility standards (i.e. WCAG 2.1) and how this can be applied.

 

What will you bring?

 

‘Must have’ knowledge, skill and experience (KSE) the role requires are:


•    2+ years as an experienced UX Designer with solid background across both digital and non-digital experiences.
•    Ability to create low, medium and high fidelity prototypes and to know when to apply these in the design process.
•    Knowledge of digital channels and platforms.
•    Ability to use research to develop designs based on user needs.
•    Confident with a range of design software tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Suite) whilst being open and adaptive to new trends and technologies. Strong knowledge of Design Systems.
•    Proven experience in conducting user testing including automated testing, interviews, and observation; and turning these observations into traceable actions for designers and developers.
•    Excellent stakeholder management, storytelling and influencing skills. 
•    A design champion who advocates the value of design across the teams.
•    Ability to present messages in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
•    Coach and guide teams to apply a design led approach when developing solutions. 
•    A growth mindset, resilient nature, and an ability to cope and support others during uncertainty



The ‘good to have’ knowledge, skill and experience the role requires are: 


•    Experience in any of the following: financial sector, consulting, advertising or digital agencies, or start-ups.
•    Qualifications in Design
•    Experience working with AI, machine learning, robotics, Chatbot, Pega or related technologies
•    Understanding of code, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
