The purpose of the Service Now Engineer role is to provide DevOps support for ANZ’s instance of ServiceNow in the areas of Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) which stores all of ANZ’s SSL Certificates and related applications, Application Services and servers or hosts relating to ANZ’s applications.  Also, to provide support to Certificate Discovery module on Service Now for discovering SSL certificates from various applications, manage the certificate CMDB and certificate lifecycle activities. There are several integrations of external systems and reporting tools that interface with this module and this role will need to ensure the integrations are well supported as well.

•    Enables continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed
•    Works in collaborative teams to build innovative solutions 
•    Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing tech division capabilities 
•    Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality, and documentation 
•    Contributes to Engineering communities, meetups, and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices 
•    Provide ongoing support for platforms as required 
•    Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams 
•    May create, understand and monitor application metrics

 

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role you will ideally bring the following:

 

  •  Experience with iterative delivery using Scrum, Kanban or SAFe and Jira
  •  Experience working under Agile methodologies, cadence and ceremonies
  •  Industry experience in ServiceNow API (GlideRecord, GlideAggregrate, GlideAjax, GlideScopedEvaluator, etc…)
  •  Industry experience using Flow Designer, Integration Hubs (spokes), Decision Tables
  •  Experience with RDBMS, preferably MS SQL
  •  Experience in contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, prepare and produce releases of software components.
  •  Experience in writing well designed, testable, efficient code with automated unit test-cases and good problem-solving skills
  •  Experience in configuring any one of the following: Service Now’s platform IntegrationHub, CMDB, Application Portfolio Management (APM) Software Asset Management (SAM   Pro) and/or Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
  •  Very strong JavaScript development experience on the ServiceNow platform
  •  Design, develop, implement and maintain custom applications on the ServiceNow platform
  •  Preferably CSA (Certified Systems Administrator) and Module Implementer
  •  Experience documenting business requirements, data exchange requirements, interface mapping agreements and technical design documentation.
  •  Experience participating in technical design workshops and documenting design decisions, actions and business rules.
  •  Experience with catalogues, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI policies, Scheduled Jobs - all scripted aspects of the ServiceNow system


Desired Skills -

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS)
  • Experience with Unix/Linux
  • Good grasp of security best-practices
  • Performance testing and tuning

  • Demonstrates in-depth customer insights and acts as an advocate, enhancing the customer experience by challenging and encouraging others to put the customer first
  • Maintains commitment to change; engages with others to gain buy-in and act as an advocate for continuous improvement. Proactively identifies, support and drive opportunities for change
  • Acts as a mentor and is highly competent in their discipline 
  • Defines patterns and standards to ensures strategic technologies and frameworks are used optimally. Assists in identifying and evaluating potential new technologies and frameworks
  • Adopts and enhances a vision and plan for application-level solution design and architecture for the platform. Works closely with Technology Area architects in implementing application solutions and contributing to architectural designs and decisions
