About the Role

 

The role is responsible for building world class mobile solutions for retail digital channels. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and closely work with a team of highly skilled mobile engineers in every phase of feature development. You will engage your expertise to carry out quality reviews, provide feedback, guide and mentor engineers’ growth. Working in an agile environment delivering customer features, the Engineering Manager contributes to observability and ongoing feature improvements. You will be a champion for learning and adopting new technologies and productivity tooling.

 

The role demands a team player, places high emphasis on quality outcomes and out of the box thinking. The Engineering Manager is involved in designing, developing and delivering best of the industry mobile application experience. Ability to digest complex orchestration of numerous systems while adhering to stringent performance guidelines.

What will your day look like?


As an Engineering Manager, you will:

 

  • Understanding requirements, designing, and developing features for the ANZ App to deliver a high-quality customer experience across digital channels.
  • Leading the mobile engineering chapter by guiding engineers on best practices and supporting their professional development.
  • Building and maintaining mastery of mobile engineering capabilities within the chapter.
  • Supporting feature squads in delivering new or improved functionality for customers.
  • Applying analytical thinking to solve complex problems and create automation/monitoring use cases to reduce manual effort and maximize service availability.
  • Engaging with business and technical stakeholders to identify and implement optimal solutions.
  • Collaborating with the Capability Area Lead and offshore frontend engineering Chapter Lead to develop asset roadmaps, drive technology adoption, and maintain a balanced workforce.
  • Ensuring design patterns and guidelines are followed across features being developed.

 

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experience in designing and Building complex mobile application.
  • Strong understanding of SwiftUI, iOS Architecture Components, data binding and material design components.
  • Experience in collaborating with product, design, and other engineering teams to drive execution.
  • Solid coding practices including good design documentation, unit testing, continuous integration, and source control (GIT) and peer code-reviews.
  • Deep expertise in mobile app development combined with broad capability and a proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest developments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire, mentor, coach and develop others.
  • Experience in designing and building complex software applications that work on scale
  • Defines patterns and standards to ensures strategic technologies and frameworks are used optimally.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
