About the Role


As a Senior UI Designer, you will be working with a multidisciplinary team of squad members and business stakeholders focussed on designing simple and seamless experiences in our online origination platform on ANZ.com. Whilst leading your craft, you will coach other designers and project/team members in design, present to stakeholders/partners/clients and work collaboratively with your team to improve our customers financial wellbeing.

What will your day look like?

As a UI Designer, your key accountabilities include: 

  • Project scoping: Scope and plan design activities in the project, ensuring the design activities remain on track and are set up for success. 

  • Ideation: Strong experience in using collaborative ideation techniques to create wireframes from low fidelity to high fidelity.  

  • Prototyping: Iteratively develop user flows and prototyping wireframes. Take UI from concept to design roll-out ensuring all the UX considerations and thinking are translated seamlessly into design deliverables. 

  • Design artefacts: Craft and deliver design artefacts that are high quality, consistent and coherent with alignment with our Design Strategy and Design System. 

  • Delivery: Oversee the development of delivery of effective user interfaces. Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and facilitating walkthroughs to business stakeholders and developers.  

  • Framework and standards: Lead and oversee design frameworks and methodology in your team. Active contribution to the ANZ design system and driving consistency of quality design and brand. 

  • Coaching: Responsible for building and implementing a design thinking culture. Provide mentorship and training to the team.  

  • Accessibility: Proven understanding, knowledge and experience working with accessibility standards (i.e. WCAG 2.1) and how this can be applied. 

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • 7+ years as an experienced UI/Visual designer. 

  • Deep knowledge of digital channels and platforms which maximises overall digital execution, innovation and delivery of user led customer and commercial outcomes. 

  • Confidence with a range of design software tools (Figma, Figjam, Adobe Suite) whilst being open and adaptive to new trends and technologies. Strong knowledge of Design Systems. 

  • Expert knowledge of UI design principles and techniques. 

  • Ability to perform in a fast paced, high stress design process. 

  • Excellent stakeholder management, storytelling and influencing skills.  

  • Confident and empathetic leadership style with excellent communication skills.  

  • Ability to present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner. 

  • Coach and guide teams to apply a design led approach when developing solutions. Help others develop their skills in their growth areas and foster an energetic, vibrant team culture.
