About the Role

 

The Technical Business Analyst role will primarily focus on the Trade Surveillance System Replacement delivery and any other activities required within the Markets Regulatory and Risk team. The role will also provide support to the Technology Project Manager/Initiative Lead, and broader Technology team with project deliverables.

 

The primary function of the role involves evaluation of functional requirements, defining non-functional requirements, ensuring traceability, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet the Trade Surveillance System Replacement project deliverables.

 

In this role you are required to be self-directed, with the ability to proactively identify and analyse problems, and propose viable solutions.

What will your day look like?

 

As a Technical Business Analyst, you are accountable for:

 

  • Evaluating functional requirements to ensure they are accurate, clear and aligned to business outcomes
  • Defining and documenting accurate and clear non-functional and enabler requirements
  • Ensuring traceability between requirements and design/test cases and back to business outcomes
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
  • Ensuring compliance with the ANZ Delivery Framework (ADF) through tracking and reporting to management
  • Working closely with Control Owners to coordinate technology controls assessments ensuring they are fit for purpose
  • Identifying, documenting and managing project risks, issues, constraints and dependencies
  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation up to date and stored in repository
  • Providing effective and regular updates and reporting on project tasks and deliverables
  • Working closely with Risk and Assurance partners on delivering solutions for security and risk assurance requirements
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders delivering to agreed outcomes

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

‘Must have’ knowledge, skills and experiences:

 

  • Deep business analysis skills, including elicitation techniques and the ability to define requirements in complex and challenging environments.
  • Ability to optimise workflow management to ensure traceability from requirements back to business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate business analysis outcomes with large, senior stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical techniques and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work under pressure and manage multiple activities in accordance with delivery requirements and timelines.
  • Exceptional organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery practices and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • Strong awareness of banking and finance industry trends and threats, including technology, products, regulatory environment, competitors, and innovations.
  • Over five years of financial services industry business/technology experience.
  • At least three years of project experience as a business analyst.

 

‘Good to have’ knowledge, skills and experiences:

 

  • Experience in Markets Trade business, including trade surveillance, trading activities, and Market risk management.
  • Experience in delivery of major technology change.
  • Knowledge of the Institutional & Payments Technology Domain.
  • Understanding of risk and compliance frameworks and processes.
  • Familiarity with the ANZ Delivery Framework (ADF).
  • Experience in Change Management.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodology and tools such as Microsoft Project and PPM.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
