About the Role
As a Tech Area Architect in our Architecture & Engineering domain, you will play a key role in defining the technology architecture for ANZ’s Digital Employee Experience (DEX) domain. This will include technology architecture for the Talent & Culture, Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, End User Compute or Workplace technology areas under DEX.
DEX at ANZ focuses on the experience that employees get through the digital interaction with their work and workplace across their employment tenure – from hiring, onboarding, everyday work, time-off, learning through to off-boarding and leaving ANZ.
As a Tech Area Architect you will define the architecture and roadmap for a Technology Area within DEX, plan the architectural runway to support upcoming sprints, design/evaluate solutions and provide technical expertise to squads to enable solutions safely. You will qualify architectural decisions, co-ordinate alignment to enterprise strategy & standards, establish patterns and drive adoption within the products delivered by the area / squads to achieve reliability, reusability, and scalability across ANZ.

What will your day look like?
As a Tech Area Architect, you will be accountable for:
- Completing Architecture Assessments with Architecture Decisions to address business needs / problems, while considering strategic enterprise alignment.
- Creation of Architecture Overview (High Level Design with Architecture Visualisation) to outline the technology solution to solve the business needs / problems.
- Creation of Architecture Roadmap to establish strategic direction for a tech area.
- Creation of Reference Architecture, Principles, Standards and Patterns to establish architecture guard rails for solutions.
- Socialise and obtain approvals for architecture solutions from the relevant governance forums and stakeholders.
- Active quorum member for Domain Architecture Governance.
- Develop and maintain the architecture book of work for the area and participate in Tribe Planning for solution delivery.
- Support the squad for the implementation of the approved architecture solution.
- Provide consulting services to business and technology stakeholders.

- Commercial & Business Acumen Strategic Planning & Investment
- Architecture Skills & Ability to Translate Business Requirements to Technology Requirements
- Breadth of technology expertise across - Security, Identity, Cloud (AWS and GCP), Infrastructure, Network, Integration, Automation.
- Strategy Development - Creating a purpose, mission, and/or plan to achieve long term goals and objectives. This might include strategy relating to customers, roadmaps, workforce, segments, brand etc.
- Solution Design - Designing technical and non-technical solutions to resolve a problem or meet a customer need.
- Planning & Prioritisation - Planning and prioritising what needs to be done (including people, process, and technology implications) to deliver upon customer/user needs and strategic priorities. This includes identifying, planning for, tracking and resolving dependencies.
- Domain & Industry Knowledge & Expertise
- Deep technology area knowledge and systems expertise (depth in ideally three or more areas)
1.Talent & Culture platforms and process (*desired area*) – SAP Success Factors, Service Now HRSD, iManage, HireVue, SHL Assessments, RAMCO Payroll, Learning Management Systems, Employee Engagement Qualtrics, Employee Relations platforms, Wellbeing & Safety platforms, HR Data Archiving, HR Data Analytics
2.Strategic Communications platforms – Microsoft 365, Knowledge Management.
3. Public Affairs platforms – specialist systems for corporate & social responsibility.
4. End user compute - device management, zero trust network access technologies.
5. Collaboration and productivity technologies – M365, Atlassian, Enterprise Search.
6. Data platforms and tooling – data mesh architecture using Google Cloud Platform, Tableau or equivalent.
7. Agentic AI – Copilot, Copilot Studio, or equivalent technologies, understanding of AI models, agent integration, prompt engineering and AI ethics.
8. Property technology platforms.
