About the Role

Risk Metrics & Measurement Services Transformation is a newly established multi-year cloud adoption program that will transform the data, credit risk models and systems that calculate our Stress Testing, Credit Provisions and Credit Risk Weighted Assets Metrics. 


Reporting to the Program Director, the Stress Testing – Initiative Lead will bring extensive delivery, transformation and vendor management experience on large scale programs in the Banking domain, to lead the development and implementation of a new Stress Testing Solution. Accountabilities include: 

  • Challenge the status quo to deliver Transformational outcomes
  • Lead ‘end to end’ delivery of system implementations through the SDLC in a complex, dynamic and regulatory environment and deliver at pace
  • Navigate a complex transition pathway to the future state, including interim ‘tactical’ states that safely deliver benefits whilst also preserving critical business regulatory reporting processes and reconciliations

Role Type: 12 month Secondment Opportunity, 40 hours per week

What will your day look like?

As an Initiative Lead, you will be accountable for:

  • Working with the Vendor, Technology Teams and Business SMEs to lead the Stress Testing Solution design, building and deploying activities through the Solution Delivery lifecycle  
  • Monitoring the vendors progress against the integrated delivery plan, ensuring critical path activities are on track and dependencies are managed.
  • Establishing and leading a team of Business Analysts to document and manage a complex suite of business requirements across multiple stakeholder groups, ensuring the delivered solution meets regulatory and business needs and transformational outcomes are aligned to benefits  
  • Establishing efficient and fit for purpose Agile delivery processes to develop and manage the integrated delivery plan, with effective status reporting - ensuring the critical path is clearly defined, activities are well coordinated and delivery pace is optimised  
  • Working effectively across the Program’s enablement streams and understanding interdependencies eg Design the future state processes with strong governance and controls, traceability of requirements to regulatory obligations, change management stream, data migration, credit risk model rebuilds and metric calculations.      
  • Ensuring effective knowledge transfer from the vendor to internal teams by facilitating shadowing, documentation, and training during the build.
  • Confirming that all build documentation is complete, accurate, and handed over prior to go-live
  • Chairing working groups to resolve solution design issues, effectively managing scope, prioritising requirements and identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies
  • Producing meaningful status reporting for steering committees
  • Ensuring adherence to ANZ’s Non-financial risk (NFR) framework and delivery framework (ADF)

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:

  • Program Delivery Extensive ‘hands on’ experience, planning and leading ‘end to end’ delivery of systems implementations through the SDLC in a complex, dynamic and regulatory environment. This includes delivery under both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and proficiency in project delivery tools eg JIRA, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, confluence and collaboration tools
  • Vendor management: Prior experience working with vendors to build and deliver solutions  
  • Team Building & Leadership: Proven experience in building and managing project delivery teams to deliver at pace, and providing coaching to upskill SMEs to adopt Agile Delivery practices,
  • Domain knowledge in either Credit Risk, Treasury, Finance or Regulatory Reporting across data, credit risk models and metrics    
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to negotiate aligned outcomes and work across multiple streams. Clearly and simply represent findings and effectively communicate progress to Executive stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Adept at envisioning and communicating a compelling and future-oriented vision to impacted teams. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others, consistent with ANZ values, New Ways of Leading and Growth Mindset.
  • Strategic thinking: Takes a broad perspective in understanding impacts, thinks of the end user and looks for opportunities when solving complex problems and recommending solutions. Ability to work methodically through large volumes of information and distil into workable packages
