About the Role

As a Senior Analyst in the Business & Private Bank Strategy team, you will help shape the division’s future direction and support key business decisions. You will work across a wide range of priorities, bringing together customer, market and business insights to identify opportunities and build a clear view of the factors influencing the division. Working with colleagues and stakeholders across the business, you will help turn these insights into clear recommendations that support Business & Private Bank’s long-term success.

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Analyst, Strategy, you are accountable for:

• Undertake strategic analysis and research across customers, competitors, markets, financial performance and business performance
• Structure business questions, develop hypotheses and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Develop and assess commercial analysis, opportunity sizing, business cases and scenarios
• Gather and synthesise information and perspectives from stakeholders across the business
• Prepare clear, evidence-based papers and presentations for senior audiences
• Contribute to strategy projects across Business & Private Bank, supporting work from initial research and analysis through to recommendation
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and identify opportunities to improve the way the team works

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Must have’ knowledge, skills and experiences

• Experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, banking or a related analytical role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear materials for senior audiences.
• Ability to structure problems and synthesise complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
• Strong analytical capability and sound commercial judgement.
• Experience with financial analysis, business cases, scenarios or other quantitative work.
• Ability to build effective relationships and work with stakeholders across different parts of the business.
• Ability to manage changing priorities, work with incomplete information and maintain strong attention to detail.

Good to have’ knowledge, skills and experiences

• Experience in strategy, management consulting, strategic planning or a related analytical role.
• Experience using customer, market or competitor research to inform business decisions.
• Experience in banking or financial services, particularly business or commercial banking.

Qualifications

• Minimum Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, commerce or a relevant related discipline
