About the Role

 

You will lead and execute complex, high-value sourcing initiatives that are critical to ANZ’s strategic objectives. This role focuses on major, high-risk deals that require strong commercial acumen, governance, and alignment with enterprise priorities and risk appetite to deliver long-term value.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead strategic sourcing execution for ANZ’s most significant deals, ensuring alignment with category strategies and business objectives
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor, building and maintaining strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external partners to influence enterprise decision-making
  • Apply leading sourcing approaches, embedding Lean and Agile principles to deliver customer-focused solutions, continuous improvement, and capability uplift across the organization
  • Ensure robust governance and compliance, including contract negotiation, supplier performance frameworks, and adherence to procurement policies and legal standards
  • Lead by example, consistently delivering best-practice sourcing outcomes that balance value, risk, and innovation.

What could your day look like?

 

As a Sourcing Manager – Major Deals, every day brings opportunities to influence ANZ’s most strategic decisions and deliver outstanding commercial outcomes. You will:

 

  • Work with initiative leads to ensure requirements are suitable and progressing to the sourcing timelines
  • Development of Sourcing Strategy, negotiation plans and getting buy in and sign off from sponsors and stakeholders
  • Engage - with senior stakeholders, vendors and broader procurement team on events
  • Work with other support teams including risk and legal teams — acting as a trusted advisor to shape sourcing strategies and influence enterprise decision-making
  • Lead negotiations with strategic suppliers for the best commercial outcome while ensuring governance, compliance, and risk mitigation are embedded in every step
  • Apply innovative sourcing practices, leveraging Lean and Agile principles to design customer-focused solutions and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate across teams, uplifting capability and sharing best practices to strengthen ANZ’s procurement function
  • Governance checks, ensuring contracts, supplier performance frameworks, and compliance standards are met for every major deal.

  • Quality assurance focus – delivering consistent best-practice sourcing outcomes
  • Proven leadership – experience leading complex, high-value strategic sourcing initiatives within financial services or similarly regulated industries.
