About the Role

As an Engineer in the Payments Observability Tech team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our on-premises observability platforms. You will also lead efforts to migrate these platforms to the cloud, enhancing scalability and resilience. In addition, you will be responsible for onboarding new application data into the observability ecosystem and developing robust monitoring capabilities to empower support teams with actionable insights.

What will your day look like?

• Manage and maintain observability platforms such as New Relic and Dynatrace to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Design and configure alerts and dashboards to proactively monitor application health and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, deploy, and automate monitoring solutions tailored to business and technical needs.
• Provide technical expertise and support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to observability tools and integrations.
• Ensure all monitoring practices align with organizational standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
 

• Hands-on experience configuring APM tool agents such as New Relic and Dynatrace for comprehensive infrastructure and application monitoring.
• Strong automation skills, including scripting and automating tasks like APM agent installation, upgrades, and configuration.
• Proven experience automating cloud (GCP) and on-premises resource provisioning, lifecycle management, and infrastructure configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture and services, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Banking or financial services experience is highly advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a calm, methodical approach under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
