Senior Project Manager
Senior Project Manager
About Us
At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
About the Role
Australian Cash Services (ACS) is a new industry-owned utility being established by Australia's major banks to operate a single national wholesale and commercial cash pool. ACS will centralise key cash management activities currently performed separately by individual banks, creating a more efficient and sustainable model for the distribution and management of cash across Australia. The role leads the practical changes ANZ must make to transition to ACS.
It combines hands-on delivery with project management, coordinating business, operations, technology, treasury, accounting, finance, legal and risk teams to ensure ANZ is ready for Day 1. The role owns the internal plan, works through detailed implementation issues, drives decisions and supports cutover and stabilisation.
Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne
Work Hours: Full Time (40 Hours)
What will your day look like?
As a Senior Project Manager, you are accountable for:
Plan and manage delivery

- Work directly with SMEs to document future-state processes, accountabilities, procedures, controls, reporting and business requirements.
- Prepare papers, analysis, implementation materials and recommendations needed to progress decisions and delivery.
- Follow through on actions and resolve practical gaps rather than operating only as a coordination layer.
Readiness, testing and cutover

- Coordinate testing, business acceptance, training, procedure updates and operational sign-offs.
- Develop and execute cutover, contingency and hypercare plans, including active management of transition issues.
Commercial, financial and control readiness
- Coordinate implementation of settlement, cash pool funding, pricing, invoicing, accounting and reconciliation arrangements.
- Coordinate changes to contracts, controls, risk treatments and governance required for ANZ to operate within the ACS model.
- Track implementation costs, ongoing impacts and unresolved commercial or operational decisions.
Stakeholder management
- Act as ANZ’s central implementation contact and bring together accountable business owners and SMEs.
- Provide clear, concise updates to senior leaders and escalate material risks, delays and decisions early.
