About the Role

 

 

The Risk Metrics & Measurement Services Transformation is a multi-year cloud adoption program that will transform the data, models and calculation systems that underpin the Divisions 3 credit risk metrics services: Provisions, Risk Weighted Assets and ‘Stressing’ those metrics under economic downturns. Phase 1 has now kicked off and is focused on delivering the Stress Testing capability by September 2027.  

Reporting to the Program Director, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating end-to-end delivery for Phase 1 (Stress Testing), through establishing strong program governance disciplines, ensuring an integrated planning approach and coordinated, well-executed delivery across 4 workstreams:       

  • Data, Models & Metrics Design 
  • Reporting & Assurance 
  • ANZ Technology Cloud Infrastructure Set Up and Data Onboarding  
  • Vendor Solution build    


A key function of this role is to ensure consistency in delivery practices and transparency of progress, risks and outcomes to stakeholders. 
To be successful in this role, you’ll have proven experience driving delivery horizontally across multiple workstreams, connecting the dots, and mastery in integrated planning and tools (Jira, Confluence and MS Project) that produce meaningful reporting.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Lead program-wide planning activities to establish and manage the integrated program schedule including milestones, dependencies and resource allocation – with a relentless focus on well-planned delivery and execution.
  • Provide coaching to workstream leads to enable the break-down of work into meaningful components with effective sequencing.  
  • Use visualization tools to create roadmaps that bring the schedule “to life” creating clarity on priorities and anchoring workstreams around a common understanding of the critical path, milestones and inter-dependencies
  • Establish integrated status reporting across Jira, Confluence and MS Project, that provides transparent progress against milestones, timely escalation and course-correction actions
  • Coordinate SteerCo & Design Council packs, minutes and actions and quality-review materials to ensure meaningful status updates and well-considered options analysis.
  • Establish clear and consistent decision making frameworks and scope change control processes 
  • Manage the Decision and RAID Registers and play an active role in the identification and mitigation of risks, issues and dependencies.  
  • Enhance the teams delivery operating model i.e meeting cadence, consistent agile ways of working and Jira usage. 
  • Lead weekly Stream Leads forums to track progress, manage dependencies, remove blockers, align priorities, ensuring accountability for action items and deadlines
  • Ensure clear delivery accountabilities (RACI) across workstreams, vendors and stakeholders to strengthen accountability and execution. 
  • Enhance Vendor engagement cadence, delivery and governance 

What will you bring?

 

  • 10+ years’ project delivery experience, driving delivery across business and technology workstreams in complex, dynamic environments and understands the key drivers of success
  • Demonstrated ability to design and lead program-wide operating cadences that optimise execution, and embed fit-for-purpose governance, reporting and documentation standards.
  • Extensive experience facilitating project planning and proficient with using planning tools (Jira, MS Project, Confluence) to produce integrated and meaningful status reporting.
  • Domain knowledge in Banking – Regulatory Credit Risk, Finance or Treasury
  • A strategic thinker that can understand impacts, solve problems and recommend solutions 
  • Strong visual, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly gather information on the progress of work and clearly and simply communicate this to senior stakeholders.
  • An adaptable style that can flex to use different tools and approaches to meet the teams needs
  • Confident in facilitating meetings and bringing people together to foster collaboration and negotiate aligned outcomes
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and ability to be self-directed and take initiative
  • Project Management Professional accreditation (e.g., SAFe, Certified Scrum Master, PRINCE2)
