About the Role
The Senior AML Operations Team Lead is accountable for:
- overseeing the quality and accuracy of AML investigations carried out by AML Operational staff, and adherence to Regulatory obligations and risk tolerance
- optimising the execution of operational processes and AML investigations (including complex investigations) to discharge FCTM’s service offering and Statement of Work obligations
- drive continuous improvements in AML investigation outcomes and operational performance by implementing effective capacity & capability planning and forecasting
- Representing ANZ at industry forums and working groups in line with ANZ strategic goals
- Engaging with senior internal stakeholders to represent divisional interests.
- Delegated responsibility and decision making for the AML Operations Functional Lead.

What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Prior, tenured experience in Financial Crime with strong analytical and problem-solving skills as the role will require an understanding of AML investigations and reporting of Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and other related Financial Crimes
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team, ready to assist and perform functions of other streams while also having the working independently and with minimal supervision
- Coaching and development of staff and team building to foster cohesion between support functions and production cells
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (including business writing) as the role will be dealing with various stakeholders and requires valuable business insights to be conveyed
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise self and direct reports
- Proactive in problem solving and putting forward sustainable solutions to business problems
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Data analysis and interpretation of operational and quality metrics
- Experience in the banking industry, covering banking services & products
- Ability to build strong, open and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders
