About the Role

As a Senior Mental Health & Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping ANZ's approach to mental health, psychosocial risk management and employee wellbeing across a global workforce. Working closely with the Manager, Mental Health & Wellbeing, you will provide expert advice to leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, helping to create psychologically safe and healthy workplaces.

You will support the management of psychosocial risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, organisational priorities and industry best practice. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of ANZ's Wellbeing & Safety systems and processes.

To succeed, you will bring strong strategic thinking, sound judgement and the ability to influence across a complex stakeholder environment, delivering practical, evidence-based solutions that balance employee wellbeing with business outcomes.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Provide technical and specialist advice on the management of complex psychosocial risk and mental health matters across the business.
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support the management of psychosocial risks across the business. This may include but is not limited to delivering presentations, facilitating action planning sessions with leadership teams and supporting teams to address psychosocial risks in the most appropriate way.
  • Accountable for the development & implementation of projects relating to improving the management of psychosocial risk, working with different business areas and across Talent and Culture.
  • Influence key stakeholders (including senior management and other business representatives) to ensure best practice outcomes for W&S in line with legislative requirements, industry standards and best practice.
  • Support ANZ to meet its Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations in relation to psychosocial risk and support the effective integration of psychosocial risk management within the WHS Management System, Talent & Culture processes, and broader business practices where appropriate.
  • Work with and support other teams within the Wellbeing & Safety domain to upskill on psychosocial risk management and workplace mental health more broadly. This includes providing coaching, upskilling activities, guidance, and support to more junior members of the team.
  • Analyse and interpret data to help inform proactive and tailored interventions for emerging and existing risks.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the team manager on key pieces of work related to psychosocial risk, mental health and wellbeing.
  • Support the management of ANZ’s external wellbeing providers, including EAP providers.
  • Support the team to facilitate global wellbeing events which will include engaging providers, developing communications and event co-ordination. 

 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

  • Experience working in large corporate environments supporting mental health and psychosocial risk management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health & Safety, Human Factors or a related discipline will be required.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to understand business strategy, navigate complex and at times, ambiguous environments, and deliver practical psychosocial risk management solutions.
  • A strong ability to work as part of a team and the broader Wellbeing & Safety function.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relating to psychosocial risk.
  • A commitment to personal development and keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practice.
