As the Senior Manager, Specialised Credit, Business & Private Bank Risk, you will play a key leadership role in providing independent second line oversight of the Emerging Corporate portfolio. Working at the intersection of risk strategy, credit decision-making, and stakeholder influence, you will help shape credit outcomes across a complex and dynamic client segment.

This is an influential leadership opportunity to provide robust challenge and oversight, ensuring credit decisions and portfolio management practices remain aligned to the Group’s risk appetite, policies, and regulatory expectations. You will partner closely with business and risk leaders to drive disciplined risk management, strengthen portfolio performance, and support sustainable growth, while fostering a culture of accountability, sound judgement, and risk excellence.

 

 

About the Role

 

As the Senior Manager, Specialised Credit , Group Risk  within bthe Business & Private Banking Function , you will support the Emerging Corporate Credit team in delivering strong credit quality and portfolio outcomes aligned with group credit principles and policies. You will play a key role in translating strategy into execution through sound credit decisioning, effective stakeholder engagement and strong team leadership, helping to drive consistent risk management outcomes while supporting sustainable business growth.

What will your day look like?

 

As the Senior Manager Specialised Credit (Emerging Corporate), you will:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of credit specialists, providing independent risk oversight and shaping credit quality and portfolio outcomes across the Emerging Corporate portfolio.
  • Provide trusted advice and constructive challenge to business and risk leaders, influencing credit decisions, governance outcomes, and adherence to risk appetite and policy.
  • Strengthen organisational capability through coaching, mentoring, and leadership, driving excellence in credit assessment, portfolio stewardship, and risk judgement.
  • Champion a strong risk culture by promoting accountability, regulatory compliance, and proactive stakeholder engagement to deliver sustainable risk outcomes.

What will you bring?

Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

Advanced credit assessment, decision-making (CAD), and risk management capabilities across Specialised Credit portfolios (preferably Emerging Corporate).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills, ability to manage complex credit scenarios. Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset including policy gap identification.

Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to manage credit deterioration and complex risk scenarios proactively, and demonstrated ability to contribute to executive level papers.

Demonstrates an open‑minded and adaptable approach, with the ability to adjust style, thinking and judgement to evolving business needs and credit contexts, and to align with ANZ's 2030 Strategy.

Has successfully led teams through change while fostering a positive, open mindset and helping teams adapt confidently to evolve business and risk environments.

Tertiary qualification in Banking, Finance, Accounting or Economics (desirable)
