About the Role

 

 

As Senior Manager, Conduct Risk, you will provide enterprise leadership and subject matter expertise on conduct risk across ANZ. You will drive the ongoing development of ANZ's conduct risk framework, policies and practices, while establishing a bank-wide view of how conduct risk is identified, managed and mitigated. 

 

This is a highly visible role that partners with business leaders, risk teams, compliance professionals and regulators to influence ANZ's conduct risk agenda, strengthen governance practices and support proactive risk management across the organisation.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Leading the development and continuous enhancement of ANZ's Conduct Risk Framework, Policies and supporting practices. 
  • Developing an enterprise compliance opinion on the delivery of fair customer outcomes via the effectiveness of conduct risk identification, management and mitigation across the bank. 
  • Monitoring industry, regulatory and emerging conduct risk trends to inform ANZ's conduct risk strategy and approach. 
  • Partnering with business, risk and compliance stakeholders to support effective implementation and ongoing adherence to conduct risk requirements. 
  • Acting as subject matter expert on conduct risk and fair customer outcomes, providing trusted advice and challenge to senior stakeholders. 
  • Developing mechanisms and insights to assess, evidence and monitor conduct risk across ANZ. 
  • Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry forums. 
  • Supporting regulatory change initiatives and embedding conduct risk considerations into business decision-making. 
  • Contributing to an enhanced risk culture and promoting values-based behaviours and ethical decision-making across the organisation. 
  • Delivering reporting recommendations and insights to support senior governance forums and decision-making. 

What will you bring?

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as Law 
  • Significant experience in risk management, compliance, conduct risk or a related discipline within a complex financial services environment. 
  • Deep understanding of conduct risk frameworks, governance principles, consumer protection laws and regulatory expectations. 
  • Strong knowledge of the banking regulatory environment and emerging industry trends. 
  • Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across a large organisation. 
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. 
  • People leadership experience, leading teams in complex and changing environments, with a passion for building a positive, high-performing culture 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, develop practical solutions and drive change. 
  • Strong judgement and a risk-based approach to decision-making. 
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment. 
  • A curious mindset with a genuine interest in industry developments and emerging risks.
