About the Role

 

An exciting leadership opportunity exists to drive the end-to-end event and breach management capability across Group Operations. Reporting within the Non-Financial Risk function, you will be accountable for the effective and sustainable operation of event management practices, ensuring events are managed from identification through to closure while delivering strong customer, risk and compliance outcomes.

 

Leading a team of Event Specialists and Case Managers, including breach reporting specialists, you will provide oversight, governance and direction across the event lifecycle. You will partner closely with senior leaders across Group Operations, Risk, Compliance and Legal to drive accountability, strengthen governance, improve risk culture and ensure adherence to regulatory and non-financial risk framework requirements.

 

This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide risk outcomes by providing insights into event trends, identifying root causes, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring the organisation continues to mature its event and breach management practices.

What will your day look like?

 

As a Senior Manager, Events and Breach Management, you will:

 

  • Lead and develop a team of Event Specialists and Case Managers, fostering a high-performing, risk-aware culture focused on delivering quality customer and compliance outcomes.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of operational events and breaches, ensuring effective governance, timely resolution and adherence to regulatory obligations and service commitments.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Group Operations, Legal, Compliance and Risk to drive accountability, influence decision-making and strengthen risk management outcomes.
  • Conduct deep-dive reviews into event drivers, trends and recurring themes, leveraging root cause analysis and insights to prevent future issues and improve business performance.
  • Drive consistency, quality and continuous improvement across event management practices, embedding strong governance, reporting and control frameworks.
  • Review and approve breach and regulatory submissions, including ASIC reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with required standards and timeframes.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Extensive experience in end-to-end event management, operational risk, non-financial risk, compliance or legal functions within a complex financial services environment, with the ability to lead sustainable event and breach management practices.
  • Proven people leadership capability, with a track record of building high-performing teams, developing capability and fostering a strong risk-aware culture focused on customer and compliance outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, challenge constructively and drive accountability across senior leaders and key business partners.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience conducting root cause analysis, identifying thematic trends and translating insights into sustainable business improvements.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement, strengthening risk culture and driving better governance, risk and customer outcomes across the organisation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant financial services experience, supported by strong knowledge of event and breach management, regulatory obligations and governance frameworks. Experience with banking products, risk systems and regulatory reporting will be highly regarded.
